Subway Series, baby!

It's a Subway Series! A Subway Series? Is Subway the sponsor? Pacific Bell sponsors a ball park and Subway gets to sponsor the World Series? And only if the Yankees win? I hate baseball, so I have no idea. What does it mean?

It's the Yankees vs. the Mets!
