Spam the Electors! Get them to defect!
Citizens for True Democracy have set
up a web site called www.votewithamerica.com
that encourages people to spam the 172 Republican electors to get at least three
of them to defect. They state that they are non-partisan -- that had the result
been what the political analysts had originally predicted, they would have released
the names, addresses and contact information of the Democratic electors
-- because they believe the candidate who wins the popular vote should win the
Presidency. I tried to look for justification behind their thinking on their site,
but once again, it looks like a bunch of people who didn't question why
the Electoral College system exists to begin with. And then they didn't think
about whether spamming electors will ultimately endear the electors to their cause.
Uh... no. via Wired article.
