The Untold Erin Brockovich
Anyone's who's seen "Erin Brockovich" thinks it was a story of triumph
of the common people over the huge conspiratorial forces of public utility.
But since the movie concentrated mainly on Erin's struggle (hence the movie
title), it leaves out all the dirt and wrongdoing and bad faith that would have
otherwise tarnished a glossy, feel-good, Hollywood film.
The moral of this article,
that gives a behind the scenes look and a post-mortum analysis to the case,
is that money is tough to come by (with or without huge nine-figure settlements),
arbitration is bad as far as the truth is concerned, and lawyers are scum, even
Ed Masry. The scandal of the untold story that occurs after the closing
credits of "Erin Brockovich" is good reading.
