Naughty Dog sold to Sony

11:30AM PST - Evan tells me Naughty Dog, the company I used to work for, announced today that they have been sold to Sony. Naughty Dog developed the Crash Bandicoot series for the Playstation. I was the lead programmer on Crash Team Racing, which was the last game in the series developed there. Those of you who haven't played Crash Team Racing (or CTR as it is affectionately called) don't know what you're missing! It's the greatest kart racing game in the history of videogaming! Buy it now! Buy! Buy!

So did I get the scoop? Has Daily Radar posted the news yet?

11:45AM PST - Looks like Daily Radar beat me to the punch by an hour...

Feed a danchan...

Do you still make BEAUCOUP royalties from it, or does it end since Sony now owns the rights?

Realistically if I go out and buy 1 copy how many cents do you see?

Hehe.

CTR

CTR was such a fun and exciting game my CPU burnt out and I required CPR from danchan right after as well. I'm glad I don't drive like that in real life otherwise I would have serious problems with some COP.

No, no, no!

You've got it all wrong! I want people to buy it so that they too can experience the fun and exhiliaration of CTR!

The *real* reason for the post

Actually since Dance Dance Revolution will be released this month (?) I was deciding whether or not I should take my PS1 out of storage again... I had so much fun playing against Tom (and breaking a sweat dancing / skipping my butt off)that I thought this could be my aerobics / workout for the next few months...

Gone are the days when SIMPLE games like Nintendo Tennis (two players, crappy graphics, but FUN AS HELL)can make you spend hours WITH A FRIEND - the premise usually weren't YOU -vs- PROCESSOR, but YOU -vs- FRIEND.

I much rather play games like Super Mario Bros (no not the lame version where you ALONE run around different worlds, but the TWO PLAYER 1983-4 version knocking crabs over), Bomberman (now that is a multiplayer game), or Mario Cart...

Sad that the direction of games today are towards how to make one individual sit in front of the screen BY HIMSELF for hours, instead of playing with friends...

What will even make it worse is the fact that people will soon plug their PS2 into the wall jack and play with someone over the net...

STILL NO HUMAN INTERACTION, IN ADDITION A *FALSE* SENSE OF HUMAN INTERACTION.

Oops I thought this was the IRC "Why games are bad for children" Forum...

Schlaulau out.

Good point Schlau, but...

You seem to neglect the needs of people like myself who has no friends. I like to have fun with video games too at times when I deflate Tiffany and put her back into the closet.

Good point Emate, but...

You are not a TRUE LONER. Your DEPENDENCY on Tiffany shows that you still have hope of *someday* finding the true replacement, someone with flesh and blood, just yourself.

Deep inside, you are still an optimist who is longing for a woman's touch.

Now go outside and have some fun... oh yeah don't forget to rinse Tiffany before you leave.
