Barbie loves Vitra furniture

I'm looking for furniture online and I come across Vitra. A couple of their chairs look promising so I do a search on Google for an Eames chair and I come up with this. Look! Their Eames plywood lounge chairs are a steal at $142...

Wait a minute.

This particular Vitra line of furniture is only suitable for Barbie and Ken. Of Mattel doll fame.

Over here...

There's a way cool store over here in Harajuku called hhstyle.com. They carry all the Eames chairs and all the Herman-Miller chairs AND all the Vitra chairs too. It's like the totally designer store. You should come over and check it out ;-p

Their website is at www.hhstyle.com and not hhstyle.com

Cool.

I checked out hhstyle. They have some nice furniture. Some of it is real nice except it's also really expensive.

I want the Eames DSR chair (plastic chair re-issue by Vitra) in white x 4 as dining chairs.

In the United States, you can check out Design Within Reach (yeah, like three chairs are "within reach"), FUP and Circa50 (which seems to be associated with Modernica, that furniture store on Beverly Blvd).

I prefer the shopping cart chair myself.

I'm also looking for furniture, my man. It's an exhaustive process when you actually take time to find the style that appeals to you. (and avoid IKEA)... I found a really cool couch at ten10 in Silverlake if you're interested.

I was trying to avoid Ikea

But I got real tired of looking, then I got tired of trying to use the Ikea pieces like Legos, mixing and matching to construct new stuff (casters screw right into that cheap particle board material!) and in the process I slowly stocked up on their entire line... Expedit, Eneby, PS, Ivar, Nordas, Vreten...

I couldn't find anything I liked anywhere at any price that took less than 3 months to order and am still thinking about making some of my own furniture with Home Depot parts.

Home Depot and Ikea have been like second homes to me this past month.

But unlike Ikea, I love going to Home Depot! Open 24 hours on Sunset!
