After reading this article, I kind of want to check out Max Payne.

Yes, you definitely need to check out Max Payne. Unfortunately it only took me about 15 hours of play tim to beat, but it was fun as hell.

After you beat it once you open up different difficulty levels, including New York Minute, where you get 1 minute to beat every level, and every time you kill someone you get more time. I still haven't gotten past Part 1, Chapter 1 in New York Minute, it's incredibly hard.

Hardware Specs

I just heard from a friend of mine that 450MHz is the minimum CPU speed. I've got a 600MHz machine but only a Voodoo 2000. I'm guessing that the Voodoo won't cut it... I really want to check out Max Payne though. Time to get a new video card? *sigh*
