Ultimate LCD Screen

I wish I could add this to my Amazon wishlist! A 22.2" LCD screen that displays 3840x2400. Cheap! Only $566! (per month for 36 months...)

I got to see one live at that display show I went to.

Although the one I saw was by Toshiba it was the same resolution. It was really impressive but in practical use, except for the fact that images looked as detailed as print, it was not useful for more screen real estate because the pixels were so small. Basically you can think of it as 4 1600x1200 displays each shrunk to 1/4 the size you're used to and grouped into one. So, think how hard it is to read small print on your 1600x1200 display now then reduce to 1/4 size.

Probably a better thing would just be to get 2 to 4 1280x1024 displays and two cards (or one dual card). Then you could actually use the space. ;-) I saw that setup at Yodobashi Camera a couple of days ago, now if I could just take the 2 displays out of their frames and put the LCD elements edge to edge it would be perfect.

Those displays can be had for as little as $400 so the whole setup could be as cheap as probably $1100

The only reason it's out of the question for me is that the cards that do that aren't GeForce3. I suppose I could use one GeForce3 and one Matrox or something like that. Kind of like Evan is doing.
