Coldplay's Parachutes

cover
I know I must be late to the party, but Coldplay's Parachutes has been on continuous rotation since I got it yesterday. You know, I was never really into Coldplay's first single, "Yellow". While in Vegas for Thanksgiving Weekend, I saw the video for "Shiver" on the big screen in Rock Lobster. Now that song is going to get played out at my place. I hate to make the comparison, but Coldplay is like easy-listening Radiohead. Awesome.

Shiver is the best song on the album! Well...my favorite that is.

Yes! I love that song! It's been constantly playing in my head if it's not on the stereo. "I'll always be waiting for you..."

I personally like Trouble... the piano intro is just so effective in bringing the listeners to that sad emotion I think the song represents...

It's about time!

I just love them.. I have seen them every time they have been to NYC, even when they were on SNL. I was on the floor two feet from them, about to faint from pure excitement!!! Then the Radio City Music Hall show with grandaddy. That was good too, great sound system there. You all should check out Grandaddy, Badly Drawn Boy, Joseph Arthur and hopefully soon a band called Ambulance will come out with their cd. (Local band here in NY)

The last four line's gotta be my favorite...

"So I look in your direction,
But you pay me no attention,
And you know how much I need you,
But you never even seen me."

Melancholy

Coldplay is great at evoking a sense of melancholy -- perfect for early mornings or rainy days. It's very appropriate for the kind of weather L.A.'s been having recently and the mood I've been in. Parachutes is still on my stereo 24/7. I take it with me even when I drive.

Coldplay is coming to NY..

Gonna catch this show too I hope!
I must say, everyone that knows me...now knows coldplay. Most said they didn't like coldplay until I turned them on to them. Now they walk around the office singing almost every song. The best is when they leave songs on my voicemail.
