ridin on my mind

I lied. there's a radiator on ebay for $280. *grits teeth*

other things i need to remember to do to bike: liscence plate holder, left throttle rocker, chrome dip stick, chrome plate for backrest, chrome raditor grill, new seat, chain drive adjuster nuts, nuts for rear break swing arm, passanger footpegs, footpegs, gear shift cover, highway pegs, chrome signal cover grills. And one of those anti deer ultra sonic things- bejesus there's a lot of frikkin' deer out on the hill country highway. I don't fancy getting taken out by venison while riding. Especially if i don't get to eat it first.

I just applied to become a member of the Magna Owners Of Texas (MOOT).

ass. In their repairing they've found that the radiator on the magna is busted. New OEM price tag? $600. ass. And not a single one listed on ebay right now. At least it's the last thing i'll have to do to get it running- everything else is just for looks.

In other news- Denae coming to visit. I haven't seen her in SIX YEARS! SXSW madness i may or may not participate in. I think i might just go see Peaches and that's it. Huh? What?

Just to prove me right about dykes not being able to name their dances properly guess what the leather women call their ho down here? Dam beaver. E-gad! I joke not! Supposedly they get sloshed, watch the L word and then bust out the go-go dancers. I smell stripper opertunities.

Things i accomplished today:

Pretty much moved in to the new place. Just need to decorate. (help)
Made my first new batch of kombutcha.
Set up two older lesbians who both live out in the hill country who i met through wanting to rent out there. I feel like such a cupid. This is the first time i've gotten to play match maker BTW. Go figuer- again I'm like a jump start to older women's romantic lives.
Did finishing work on the tops of 8 brass bodice daggers. I'm getting faster and god does a drimel tool save my poor hand so that i can open my own cans. Need to get better at doing decorative work on the blade though.
Got a haircut. Little shorter than i may have wanted. I look like a rich man's gate- short, spikey, and shiney. The told me there was a 1/2 hour wait and then i asked where i could get a beer. She proceeded to hand me a Lone Star Beer (National beer of Texas).

Now i am going to watch Queer As Folk and The L Word thanks to Rasa/Linda's lending me their house for the weekend while they're out. Contemplating going to a club/bar but which one? There are an abundance of men's bars here- about three leather bars, one cowboy bar, and one obligatory party hopping twink club. Sigh. Where have all the lesbians gone?

Tomorrow: chant, shop for things i can't carry on my bike with Peggy, make more kombutcha. Change mailing address with EVERYONE ON EARTH.

The Perfect, The Cheap, and The Practical.

Something Private with great Long Term Potential, Something Cheap and Temporary, and Something Practical.

Well i chose the practical for now.

The first one, the most perfect in every way but for the 40 min. drive i will have to turn down for now. Perfect. Really, i could go on and on about it- except for the drive. Coming from Santa Fe's no traffic/comute living and still having to deal with spring weather on a motorcycle it didn't seem like a good bet for now. I don't want the extra stress and time of riding that far each day ontop of needing to get to know the area i'm in and figuering out my place at work/how it's working. Sigh.

The cheap and temparary is tempting for sure. Closer than the Perfect place but it's too small for me to fit my queen bed and computer desk. it really would be temporary, a few months at most.

And finally? A place that's a bit more expensive, a 1/1 in a row of four others like it that could use some upkeep by landloard (isn't going to happen untill something breaks), with neighbours all on little plots hidden by the terain, 7 min from work, 3 min from Wimberly, all the appliances and a wood stove to boot but nothing in the way of long term potential for me. Yep.

Austin amazes me.

Not only is there a kite festival overfilling the park down the street, there's this and then both flat track AND banked Roller Derby games this evening!
