I found out about,

Sheila-na-gig

I've been trying to show you over and over
Look at these my child-bearing hips
Look at these my ruby red ruby lips
Look at these my work strong arms and
You've got to see my bottle full of charm

Now if someone would just conveniently invent a Sheila-na-gig jig, we'd really have some exhibitionism.

Anyone have any clue what these little motifs could mean? I've read theories that they are summoning death to become one with them in the process of bearing life. I've also heard they are something like a sexual/magical gargoyle: protecting that which resides within (the sacred site or the mystery of the place/acts therein) by daring those without to enter. Thus the petty and otherwise unworthy would turn away.

Well, i reckon it works better than any gargoyle i've ever seen.

Last night I dreamed I was telling my ex-girfriend about that figurine. Gluh.
