"You're the cutest boy i've seen in here in a long time"
The most trying of the three pizza chef brothers (also the one that works the most) has been far more civil to me and is no longer teasing and whistle at me.
Why you ask?
I think it has something to do with me going in drag to our opening production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Wednesday. Now that i've shown him my Machismo side (if any) i suppose he figures i am an equal, not to be messed with or tried to put in a place. David, he and i were all 'guys' in the kitchen that evening.
He also explained to me plainly and apologetically why he calls me 'Erika' instead of 'Ari', as it's harder for him to pronounce and remember when he needs to get my attention and it is no longer a gesture to annoy as it was at first.
I think from now on i'll go randomly to my jobs (lab assistant and classes too) as well as public places in drag. I can imagine most of my old employers bursting a blood vessel in their foreheads at the sight and having to 'deal' with this inappropriate uncalled for switch. Donalee just laughed, congratulated me on it’s authentic ness, told me about her 'werewolf' Halloween costume and ordeal with the spirit gum involved therein, and wished me luck in winning the fashion contest prize.
