So Long Astoria

Drawing by Moi
------------------------------------
No one even knows it's there
the all just drive on by,
they all pass the road to nowhere
and follow the dark pink sky

You're on the road to nowhere,
you're off the beaten track,
keep your eyes on the road ahead,
'cause you're never coming back.

As all the lost and sorrowed souls
float past you by and by,
the others all just pass the road,
and follow the dark pink sky.

You're on the road to nowhere,
you're passing under time,
keep your eyes on the road ahead,
'cause it isn't just in your mind.

-The Last Resort - The Eagles-

She came from Providence, the one in Rhode Island,
Where the old world shadows hang heavy in the air.
She packed her hopes and dreams like a refugee,
Just as her father came across the sea.

She heard about a place people were smilin',
They spoke about the red man's way, how they loved the land.
And they came from everywhere to the Great Divide
Seeking a place to stand or a place to hide.

Down in the crowded bars out for a good time,
Can't wait to tell you all what it's like up there.
And they called it paradise, I don't know why.
Somebody laid the mountains low while the town got high.

Then the chilly winds blew down across the desert,
Through the canyons of the coast to the Malibu
Where the pretty people play hungry for power
To light their neon way and give them things to do.

Some rich man came and raped the land, nobody caught 'em,
Put up a bunch of ugly boxes and, Jesus, people bought 'em.
And they called it paradise, the place to be,
They watched the hazy sun sinking in the sea.

You can leave it all behind and sail to Lahaina
Just like the missionaries did so many years ago.
They even brought a neon sign 'Jesus is Coming',
Brought the white man's burden down, brought the white man's reign.

Who will provide the grand design, what is yours and what is mine?
'Cause there is no more new frontier, we have got to make it here.
We satisfy our endless needs and justify our bloody deeds
In the name of destiny and in the name of God.

And you can see them there on Sunday morning
Stand up and sing about what it's like up there.
They called it paradise, I don't know why.
You call some place paradise - kiss it goodbye

I really like this song, and it speaks to me. Some call life paradise, i don't know why, it is so fleeting, kiss it goodbye.

So yeah, in the spirit of nursall: What song really speaks to you the most? COme on people, tell me! </commentgrabbing>

Sigh...

She's gone, and the next time I will se her is a week from monday, and that's only if I can figure out a way to get to her house, and even then we get no privacy. Stupid little brother. He's cool when i'm not near marie, but otherwise he's just a severe pain in the ass.

Must... face fact she is gone... must face fact that I won't see her most of the summer... must face fact I will be miserable about it.

Gonna go rollerblade for a while, let out some anger. *note to self: Buy black and white film*

-Loving and Hating guidance at the same time-

Semester one
Band
Music council homeroom, then Music class
English
Grade 12 physics

the above is where I hate guidance.
The last time I took science was grade ten, and we only did a small unit on physics. How fun this will be.

Next semester is better

Semester 2
Computer Programming
Co-Op with Prom Music!!!!

how awesome is that!!!!

that's where I love guidance.
But I needed an extra class and physics was the only one she could talk me into taking, so yeah...
anyways, turing exam tomorrow. huzzah. we get to use our notes and our old programs, so it shouldn;t be too difficult. English exam wednesday, history on friday. doing all my brick moving on thursday. hoping to get a few people to help me. I've already got jesse, so it's a start. food is provided...

Later for now. Biff

-Another Random Story. The way this blog is headed...-

The sun had just gone down, the last, bluey green colours fading into the horizon. The car speeds down this deserted highway, the road to nowhere, with you and me in the seats.

Windows open, the cool breeze flows through your long brown hair, and the smell of dew rises to my nostrils, like the bouquet of wildflowers I gave you rose to yours.

I turn off the main highway onto a dirt road that climbs up the hill, dirt kicked up by the tires of our dark red car.

we soon reach the top, and I stop the car. There it is, the whole night sky, clear and bright with a thousand tiny stars and a moon, looking down upon us. we step out of the car, and take out the picnic blanket and a thermos of cocoa, the perfect way to enjoy the stars, with you wrapped in my arms staring up to the perfection of nature above us, and me wondering how I met someone so perfect as you.

-----------------

Gah, Harry potter was actually good. not as good as the books, but way better than I expected. Note to self: If Marie is ever angry at me, pick her wildflowers and buy her Nibs.

the mail had come early that day, as though rushing the book home to her. That damp, humid day in Conneticut. The book was His, and it had been adressed to her by his own hand. She took the small, black leatherbound book up to her room and sat down on the bed, looking around at her surroundings. The floral paper, once radiant and beautiful, was now grey and faded, peeling from the walls. It hadn't been the same since they had gotten the telegram that he father had died at war.

She opened the front cover, and a small note fell out. she picked it up off of the slowly thinning sheets that covered her bed, and opened it:

"Dearest Elisabeth,
I have been writing in this book since I left Hartford, and every bit of it is a piece of my love for you. But as I write this note, We are about to head out to the boats for an attack on a beach in Normandy. They say that many of us will die for the cause here, and I do not want these pieces to be given to you in anyone else's words but mine, or even worse, not given to you at all. So I have sent this book of my writings and memoirs to you, in hope that you may find the love that lies within these pages. Hopefully it will not be the last thing I send to you, but if it is, then Know this: I have always, and will always love you, and we will meet again in Heaven.

Love,
Andrew

She took the book and held it close. She wept as she held it, and looked over on to her nightstand, where a telegram, andrew, her lover's telegram, full of dried tears, sat. She wept, for her love was gone forever.

Today I would like to talk about secret blogs. Why do we create them? why do we look for them?

Iknow, personally that I have 3 blogs, a suicidal me, me, and an emo me. the first and last are the two sides of the emotional scale, and are usually not posted on that often unless I REALLY need it, otherwise the comments are left to themselves.

My translation of my own feelings is that we create a "secret" blog on the same server because we, subconsiously, WANT someone to find it and read it, and know how we feel, someone we know, someone who can come and say "is this your blog?" and then ask why you posted it. then of course the blog is no longer a secret, an becomes superfluous, and therefore is no longer used.

Is this accurate, do you think?

Also, we search out other people "secret" blogs in search of the answers they do not give on their "regular" blog, what they do not, in a way, say to your face.

is this too, accurate?

open for suggestions on my theory
