AfterShock

Where did it go?
The peace of mind.
What will come of it’s parting?

Once, I could’ve cared less,
Once this never would have happened.
Now, that’s all gone.

I’m not the best of best friends.
I’m not the girl no one thinks about.
A block has been placed in my path.

They want me,
And I don’t know what to do.
My mind is uncertain,
My heart is unclear.
My throat is in a knot.

Once upon a time,a
A child knew what she wanted.
Now, in the present,
An adolescent is unsure.

Would you stop apologizing already! Geez! Stop it!!!! Not your fault! Geex Lousie! (my mother has nothing ot do with it...)

I am here, once again, for a little while, I am sorry

I am so so sorry that I was not home. I am always here for you, to bitch at, vent to, whine to, or anything you need. There is alwys a way to contact me, and I am exteremely sorry when it takes a while for me to answer. My shoulder is always available, and (occasionaly) I have good ideas. I have to go, as the bell just rang soo...*hugs*

Marie... *hugs*... stop being confused... you know what to do... and have fun doing it... *hugs*....

I'll try not to be mean, but I am going to blunt:

1st stanza - As a student of history, I know one thing: peace never lasts; it is an illusion.

2nd stanza - Umm, yeah, things change, no big surprise there.

3rd stanza - Again, things change, and yes, you are a good friend, despite what you might think at the moment

4th and 5th - Okay, here's where I just have to be condescending. Of course you're unsure! We all are, and always will be. I dread the day anyone is secure enough in all aspects of their life to be completely sure. Because that causes wars. (ie. Hitler... okay, maybe a bad example to use for adolescent confusion, but anyway...) It is how you deal with your confusion and insecurities that dictates what kinda of person you are.

Okay, despite the the horribly obvious constants that you're presenting, this is a good poem (Just felt the need to be nice, and I always appreciate good poetry). And look, no matter how bad things may seem right now, and how bad they've been in the recent past, they WILL get better (even though peace doesn't last... hmm, bit of a downer, that).

Anyway, for now, although it is a tired rhetoric, I must advise that you rely on your friends. Not being able to help everyone all the time does not make you a bad friend. This time, it's our turn to help you. And preferably, go with someone who's not involved, like, oh, I don't know, me! In other words, if you need to talk, just call me. You've been there when I needed to vent countless times, so let me repay the favour.
