Well, I'm back. .

Yep, we took our drive today. As plans tend to do around here, plans got changed a few times. First it got changed to, going to Costco for lunch, and getting either hot dogs or pizza and a soda. And maybe doing some shopping. They even talked about not going past Anchorage!:( Which bummed my sis. and I out. But once we got to town, we found Costco and a bunch of other places were closed cause of easter. Blah! So, we went back to the first plan and went to Burger King. Well, since two of my siblings had a free meal, and Burger King had this 2 whopper Jrs., 2 french fries, and 2 soda's for only 5 bucks. We got 4 of those meals. That did us. (When we'd get 30, they were hamburgers, not whopper Jrs. and we wouldn't get fr. fries, nor soda, and had my older bro. with us, plus we'd have a few left over)

After that we drove south a few hours to Portage, then back. It was a beautiful drive!! We stopped at Indian, to use the outhouses, and we looked across the inlet and all. That was the only place I was able to get pics. Oh, besides ones of a train while driving!:p (the train track is right beside the road) Anyways, I've uploaded a bunch, and here they are!

Yes, and I know I didn't name the pics. I've spent all this time uploading them, and my sis. is waiting to use the computer!:|
Edit: With "JC's" code, I've now got links for the pics. up!

Here's 3 of my bros. Isaac (7), Jesh (4), and Aaron (10) looking out across the inlet.

Hehe!This is my Mum holding nana (Hosanna - 1) walking towards me, with my Dad, and Andy (15) walking the opposite way.

Looking the other way at a Mt. (I love taking pics. of Mts.) and a few buildings of Indian.

Here's the inlet (Cook Inlet).

Another view of the Inlet. On the right is the road we drove on.

Dad looking out the teloscope with siblings

Here's the train, I took it out the window while going around a curve.

This is another one of the train, the car was going up and down, so I barely got the train in the pic.!:p It was a passenger train.

We're talking of taking a trip on the train sometime. Going through a long tunnel, (you have to pay) and all. I hope it all works out! We also starting discussing driving a ways with my Grandparents when they head out a few weeks for North Carolina. (their moving there:()

I'm so frusterated with this, about the links, and I'm totally out of it. Yesterday and today I've had this headache. It's kind of like constant pressure. It's awful. I don't know what it is, what's the cause, but I don't like it! It's really wearing me down. Then most of today, I've felt really cold and have been shivering. (not like me) But now! My face is red, and I'm totally burning up!! It's awful! I'm getting to bed soon. When I first sat down here, I was shivering, then I started getting hot, then burning up and feeling kind of light headed. Just out of it. Well, I'll quit my whining. I usually don't go on like this, no one but my Sis. really knows. I'll try to fill you in tomorrow on some details, once we get into my Grandparents. And hopefully I'm feeling better! Hope you are all having a lovely night, and day. And that you enjoy the pics! G'nite!

Yay!

Well, I'm home, and Dad's got the computers switched. We had a busy day yesterday, and I was only able to be on net for a few min. didn't even have time to come by here. It's good to be home, and have a computer! Do any of you help you Mum teach your siblings school? I have been alot lately, because all my younger siblings love coming over and doing schoolwork in my room in the house!:p Right now both my parents are gone running some errands. And I'm helping two bros. with school, while doing some stuff on net. I'm looking forward to a restful Sabbath!

Sunday, we're going to take a long drive, and eat out a meal, and get ice cream at Tasty Freeze! Quite a treat for us!! It's been a long time since we're gotten burgers from Burger King (cause we normally get 30), but my sis. and one bro. both get a free meal cause of their b-days. Yep, Sunday my sis. turns 12! I'm looking forward to it! We've been planning snacks and all. I love long drives. Especially when I have a good book! We took a long drive north last month, so this month we're going south! I hope we take a drive every month!

Yesterday, I was

playing the piano, going through my praise book. And I happened to flip over a couple pages, and came across this song. The words really touched me, I've started playing it, and the melody is really good too. It goes like this:

I'm Amazed
Rory Noland

Chorus:
I'm amazed at all You've done for me;
Who am I that You'd that you'd bless me so?
I stand in awe of all Your wondrous deeds;
You've dealt with me so graciously.

Broken by all the times I've failed,
And the days I've hung my head in shame;
Time and again I'm driven to my knees,
And I find Your great compassion there for me.

You've blessed me with more that I deserve,
Mercy and love at every turn;
All that You give flows out of who You are,
And I thank you, Lord, from the bottom of my heart.

It really touched me, songs can really touch me. It's, oh so true! I wish you could hear the melody, it's really good too.

Oh my! I've been promoted from "secretary" to "Office Manager" for my Grama. She's in FL, and boy, I've been on the phone with her for hours these past couple of days! Going over bills, mail, emails, getting stuff ready to mail to her, etc! We're heading home later today. It will be nice getting home! I prefer my own home over Grama's!:p It'd be nice to be taking care of my rabbits again, and I dunno, just having my stereo, and my bed and room. Sharing a bed with my sis. is a pain!:p Somehow the covers all fall off my side of the bed (I wonder how that happens?), and so my sister rolls over right next to me, almost pushing me off! I'm hoping Dad will have moved the computer over by the time we get back. hehe Well, I've gotta go fix sandwiches for lunch. I'm hungry!

Modesty

To My Christian Sisters in the Body of Christ,

I am a brother in the Lord who wants to appeal to you for help. I love the Lord and am trying to please Him in every way. I also represent many other brothers who wish they could write this to you but just can't find the words.

We men are in a battle for our minds and hearts daily. This world system assaults our eyes and mind with pictures, music, entertainment, and words that attack our goal of moral purity. Everywhere you turn there are images that appeal to the sensual flesh and drives. Beautiful women are used to sell and promote everything. Like Job, we have tried to make a covenant with our eyes that we will not sin against God, (Job 31:1) but it is becoming increasingly more difficult. The Devil has stepped up his attack to cripple us men through temptation and wandering eyes.

My appeal to you sisters is for an oasis in the Church. It's one thing to struggle daily in the world, it's quite another to have to do battle in the Church. We desire to attend church to worship and be strengthened at God's house and hope for at least a pause in the battle with lust and compromise. The world's system has crept into and is trying to corrupt the Church on every front; selfish leaders, worldly music and entertainment, and now even sensual and glamorous dressing by the sisters of all ages. In the pursuit of fashion and acceptance it appears that many sisters are caught up in and being used by the Devil without even knowing it.

God has designed men to be attracted by what they see. When a sister wears tight-fitting dresses, slinky, clingy clothes, short skirts, or sleeveless outfits, it's a struggle! Eyes are drawn to what is highlighted on the body. Necklines that are low, or shirts unbuttoned, hems that are high, inappropriately placed broaches and necklaces all point to areas that we don't want to focus on! These things can draw the eye to places they should not be. Age, weight, height, and other physical features do not matter. The Devil is using inappropriate dressing to cause brothers young and old alike to have to wage war even during worship! We attend Church to find relief and often end up leaving frustrated and defeated. Please help us! Please take a moment and think about what you are going to put on. Where will someone's eyes go when they look at you? What part of your body do you really want men to be looking at? Shouldn't it be the face and eyes? Please, please have mercy on your brothers who are trying to live a godly life. Let us have a few minutes away from temptation and struggles. Let us have a time of refreshing and peace.

I'm not asking you to wear burlap bags, but only modest, loose fitting, clothing that does not highlight and accent your figures. Draw attention to your eyes and smile. We are not lust crazed animals, but men of God who desire to walk with you as sisters and not have to struggle with you as a temptation. We will continue to do battle on our end, please assist us in our struggle by highlighting your face and not your body. Thanks for hearing our cry.

A Struggling Man Of God On Behalf Of My Brothers In Christ

I got this sent to me today, and it touched me. I mean I know most of the girls that come here dress modestly. But I thought it was a good reminder. (Yes, I know you got it too, Reba) I go even farther than that though. You could be wearing a burlap sack and still drawing attention to your body, but just the way you act and walk and all. We do need to be very careful. I'm not trying to lecture, just share. I need this as much as anyone else. It was a good reminder. Ponder it, and think over your actions.

P.S. If anyone of you would like to have this, or want to send it along to anyone, just let me know and I can send you the email.

Question

Yes, I know 3 posts in one night, but I want to ask you all something.

Do I ever seem "fake"? And what I mean by that, is in my welcoming, or thanking, do I ever seem to overdo it or to go overboard or anything? Please, I want a honest answer.

I'm really am sincere, no matter how overly enthusatic I seem. I know my Grama has that tendency. She gets so excited over the smallest things, and sometimes it seems put-on or fake, but it's just her. And I know I do tend to take after her in a few things. And sometimes I sound fake to myself. So, please honest opinions here! Thanks!

A Note-able Day!

Friday! The day I found out about the Huntaway, and also. We took showers in our house for the first time!! True, the bathroom is un-texture, has no standard flooring (unless you count the blanket we put down), and has no door, nor light (as of yet). But hey, when you can lock the door, and have the whole house to yourself, and take a shower at your VERY OWN house, and not at a gas station, or the Grandparents, what does it matter? *grin* Yes, we were all quite happy!

Today (Sat), was church. It was a relaxing, refreshing day. We read quite a bit of scripture. I also got to see my best earthly friend! She even shook my hand!! *grins* You'd have to know Rachel, she's not a very emotional, umm. . demonstrative (I guess you could say) kind of person. But she has a heart after God, and is a wonderful, awesome friend!

Well, if you remember this past Tues, I mentioned being very anxious about checking my mail box!:p Well, I did, and got some of the postcards I was expecting! Tonight, I checked it, and I got the reminder of the postcards, and a letter from a friend, along with a postcard, and some pics. she wants me to scan for her! Oh, and I got two letters, when I checked my mail Wed. night. I love getting mail! hehe

Well, I guess that's it for now. My mind just thinks about Huntaways, continuously!:p

A dog!? Yippee!

Ok, I'm really, really excited right now. I've been doing some research on dogs, because I was hoping we'd be able to get one soon. I couldn't really talk to Dad about it, because he had some really important things on his mind. I was mostlly researching, Golden Retrievers, Labador Retrievers, and German Shepherds. Thinking one of those would probably be what we'd want. Wrong! I didn't figure my Dad in!:p (Dad's a unique thinker:D) Anyways, just yesterday (that was just yesterday? wow) I was going through some more dog books, which Dad had just brought home. (I had ordered them thru the lib. Dad just picked them up) Anyways, he came in my room, and we got talking about dogs!:D He said he didn't want any of the dogs, I'd been researching, said the first two were too dumb, and German Shepherd wasn't the type of dog he wanted!:p

He had decided he wants a dog from the "herding" group, because he thinks they'll be good with other animals, will be intelligent, will know how to handle moose, bears, or other such animals (not lead them back to us), and can be easily trained to stay on our property. Sooo, we started looking at those types of dogs. He was really thinking of the Australian Cattle dog, until I found out they aren't good with kids, nor for cold climates.

So, finally on the last page of the herding group, in one book, I was looking at. I came across the, "New Zealand Huntaway" (clickee for info.). It's good with kids, intelligent, etc. Dad interested, I'm excited! As I'm typing I'm also searching them on the net! (that's why I'm on the 'puter now, Dad still hasn't gotten the other 'puter moved over:() The only problems are, we're not sure how good they'll be in cold climates, and their not very popular, so we don't know how we'll be able to get one! Plus, of course, we're going to want to research them out some more! Which is what I'm doing right now! Ohhh, I'm really excited!!!! I've wanted, yearned for a dog for YEARS!!

Computers, humbug!

Well, I don't know how much I'll be around these next couple of days (though I'm normally not around on the weekend much anyhow), 'cause we're switching computers around. Dad's computer which we had in the cabin, he's now moved into his office in the house. He's going to move his old computer over there for us to use, but hasn't gotten that done, yet. And he really doesn't want us in his office much.

I hope y'alls days go well, and I really appreciate you all coming by, and reading and posting! Thanks!

Baby!!

I'm sitting here, one-handed, and in a kind of awkward position. I'm holding my sleepng, 1 1/2 month old collicky, cousin Michael. The reason for the awkward position is because I have to keep his face out of the sun. My Aunt came out to visit today. Last time she was out, she called me, "magic arms" because I had the ability to calm him, and get him to sleep. At first, this time I thought I'd lost my ability, he was very fussy. But my aunt says he's like that all day. And now he's been sleeping for quite a while!

Well, I've trimmed my bangs, and got a shower this morning so I feel good!

Name it! (but don't claim it)

Hey, help me think of a neat name for my blogger, please. Instead of "Laura's Blogger" what should it be? Any suggestions? Please help!

I would have gotten my name to be "Laura" but it was already taken, and I already had my "Laurs" one, so went with it!

Wow

Well, I've been giving getting a blogger some thought. Hadn't quite decided yet, but being a bit implusive just went for it tonight. So, here I am!

Today was kind of busy, I spent more time on net today then I have the past couple of days though. Mum and all of kids are in at my Grandparents right now. (their out of town) We came in Sunday night, and will head back up to our place tomorrow night after church. We've been bathing, doing laundry, and been doing a bunch of baking and cleaning up. We don't do much baking at our place, cause right now our only oven is in our travel trailer. And it, unfornuately likes to burn things!:( I'll be quite happy when we get an oven!

I'm really looking forward to checking my mail tomorrow night on the way home. I'm excepting some postcards I traded for, and a postcard, and some pics. from a friend. She wants me to scan in the pics. for her. Also, who knows? There could be letter(s) for me too!:-D

Well, I'm quite looking forward to keeping a blogger! *grins* Seems it will be fun, and a good way to relieve my mind at times too! And WELCOME ALL! (hope I'm not TOO boring for you)
