Last night

Daddy asked if I wanted to go along with to Wal-mart, to which I readily agreed. We had an enjoyable time, shopping and all, and I got the opportunity to ask him some things I'd been wanting to. I really believe we've gotten closer these last months, it's really nice. Dad let me drive most of the way home, I drove 55 the majority of the time. He gave me a few pointers, corrected me on a few things, but overall I think I did well. It did give me a bit more confidence. One thing I think a little funny, I've driven up our road (2 1/2m) three times, but haven't driven down it yet!:-p
Today most of us went canoeing, Dad got the part he needed at Wal-mart last night, so we were able to take along the motor for the Pelican (plastic canoe). The first time out Amy, Aaron and I were in the Grummond and we ate lunch out on the lake (long lake), and really had to fight the wind and waves coming back. Once the wind almost blew Amy's hat away so she grabbed for it, and lost her paddle! lol So, we had to make a circle just to get it. The second time out we tied the two canoes together and putted around the lake with the motor. It was kind of nice not having to fight the waves and just enjoy it, but it was odd not paddling. I mean I was just sitting there!! Plus you can't exactly have a peaceful enjoyable trip with the sound and smell of the motor filling your senses.

Dad's really talking about going down a river, though he did say we needed more practice. So, I'm in the process right now of requesting a bunch of books on the subject from the library. I was also looking up Essays, for I plan on writing a bunch of them.

Shall close for now! G'nite!

Yippee!

I passed!!! Thank you God! And thank you all for praying! I did alot of praying, and was rather nervous, but I passed! Only 2 wrong, and breezed through the vision test. Then the picture session, then she was handing me my permit! *grins* I did have to wait awhile before taking the test, biting my nails the whole time (kidding;)). The second lady I went to (after taking the written part) name was Laura. *grin* She said her name was Laura Beth though, not Laura Elisabeth! She also said that my name (Laura L---) sounded like an authors name. *grin*

So, after two years, reading the manual about four times, and taking the test and failing once, I passed the test today! Guess I have more reason then most to be happy, eh!?;-p

Dad says I'll probably be driving Mum everywhere now!:p Not quite yet, I don't have the experience of confidence for driving a highway or busy road yet. It's not like once you take the test and get your permit you acquire the skills and experience of driving. Mum did let me drive the last mile or so to our road and then up our road. She said just to take it at my speed, I did get up to 55, but I wasn't real comfortable with it. I guess it will come with experience. I'd really like to take drivers Ed, but don't want to ask my parents to spend that type of money!:|

Today

we went to seventeen mile lake, and of course (duh;)) took our canoes. That was the point in going ya know!;) We were there about 5 hours, and it was a real blast! Oh yes, and my apologizes, in a earlier post I called our metal canoe a Drummon, well it's a Grummon! And Dad's had it 25 years!! 4 years before he married!!! We're planning on going again next Monday, and once it gets warmer we'll swim! (at least I will) I LOVE swimming, just don't get to much, and canoeing ranks pretty close.

At dinner Dad was talking about taking Andy, Amy and I and going down a certain river we know. I'm excited though a tad scared, I've never gone in a fast current river before, and it has rapids. But I know Dad has the experience and wouldn't suggest it unless he knew we could handle it. He's been down that river before.

I enjoyed going out once with my Dad (most of the time we were the helmsmen) because we can match stride (err. . paddle) for paddle. That was neat, because with the rest of my siblings I have to paddle on both sides to keep us going straight, because their just not strong enough. T'was alot of fun!

Nana got a sunburnt face though, and Amy her arms. I've got a bit of red on my arms, but I wore my boonie which really protected my face.

Well, I think that's the news for now. I'm going to finish carrying the other 3 sections of my 10'x10' kennel other where I want it. I'm going to set it up in order to give my rabbits some time on the ground and excersizing. I'm hoping to talk Dad into letting me bred Spot. (not that I haven't many times before, he was just saying he pretty much would like me to have the bunnies pre-sold before I breed.:( I reallllyyyy want bunnies though!!) G'day!

-Just remembered:
It sounds like I'll be going with Mum garage saleing tomorrow, because they all seem to want me to go take the permit test again. Soo, I suppose I'll be reading the book (again) tonight! Yipes! Please pray. This is my second time taking it. The first time was months ago!:p It just keeps getting put off. Anyhow, I'm off. G'nite!

Argh!

Why do I get in these 'down' moods?:| I haven't felt a'tall like blogging. And I'm in no mood to attempt writing a 20 p. letter for the circle letter. Blah!

Wowee!

Something happened tonight that was WAY out of the ordinary. I want to explain it fully, but I lack energy. I believe I'm tired (due to my night-owlishness, cold, mosquitoes, not sleeping well a'tall) and just don't feel like typing up a whole story. Besides I'm seriously thinking of calling Rebekkah or Rachel (or both;)) tomorrow (so be warned!) cause I have something to talk about!! *grin* And if I spilled here, then they'd know! (I know I'm so mean) Oh, but I'm also warning ya, even if it doesn't sound like me, it is!:p It's just this nasty cold I've got!:|

Sorry, if you're dying of curiousty then comment!! Then I can see if anyone comes around here anymore!:p

Jah, it's not Monday. .

and I'm not at Gram's. But here I am nonetheless!;) I actually got to stay home this time!! Mum left a bit earlier to go into Gram's! Yippee! I love staying home!

About Luke- (my older bro.) I guess his pinky got cut right below his finger nail and was only hanging by a piece of skin. *shudders* So, they cut his finger OFF at his first knuckle!! I cannot imagine! I've seen people missing part of their fingers, but my very own brother!!!??? It's odd, very odd. Of course I haven't seen it because they've got it all bandaged up, with a splint on it. He stayed since Friday night, it was a little strange having him here, even though he did sleep alot, but it was pleasant, I'm very glad he came out. He's been taking pain killer pills, which made him drowsy. His finger would cut off and on, he said sometimes it felt as if his finger was all twisted up. Which in a sense it is, cause they pull the skin over the finger and stitch it up. He's stopped taking the pills though because he'd like to drive his truck, and he has to go to the doctor tomorrow, and is planning on going back to work Tues.

I went along with two of my bros. and my Dad to get our canoes, where they have been graciously stored by some friends today. We were rather disappointed when we got there though. I guess we left our metal canoe on top of our plastic one, and the metal one was full of water. And the weight of that smashed the bow of our pelican (the plastic one) all in!:( The drummond (metal) one I *believe* Dad has had since before he married Mum, but the pelican we've only had *maybe* three years, but haven't used it that much. I was rather bummed, but then realized that God has a perfect plan and way for everything! And Dad was able to push half of the smashed part in with his foot. He believes that even if he can't get it fixed anymore it will still be usable!:-D My bros. (the lazy things;)) are quite happy because we can use our outboard motor with the pelican. Me? Well, I love paddling, so I'll stick to the smaller drummond! (Dad's fave too) Once we get the rest of our paddles and lifejackets from Gram's, we're hoping to be able to go canoeing!:-D Maybe later this week! Can't wait!

Well, I guess that's the news around here. Argh, the mosquitoes and heat are awful!:p It's been about 70 out, if it hadn't been for the breeze blowing, it'd be unbearable! As it is we use fans and roast in the house, and cabin! Last night I used our fan just to blow on my face to keep the mosquitoes away (I had already killed 20+ no joke, more kept coming) then they started bothering Amy, so she ended up crawling into bed with me!:-p (good thing it's a full size) We both slept fitfully though!:-( I woke with a stuffed up nose as feared. The majority of my family has nasty colds. Not fun!

Well, I really believe that's it!:p I shall hope to catch some of my girl friends on tomorrow, for I will need some contact with girls, after being here all this evening and tomorrow with just guys!;) (Dad + 3 bros.) lol G'day!

Well,

I just got on here for a bit, while Mum was gone garage saleing. Yesterday was kind of stressful, peaking when we heard my older brother got his pinky finger cut just about all the way off. He had surgery last night, and he's going to come home with Dad for the weekend night. Please pray for him, he was in alot of pain last night, and that this visit will go well.

This morning I went out and sat in our backyard just staring at the mountains, and listening to the birds and all for about a half an hour. It was wonderful, utterly refreshing! God was very gracious to me, and had no one borrow me or anything.

Well, I've gotta go clean under my rabbit pens now! Fun, fun!;) Nah, really I don't mind that much. G'day matey's!

--Later--
Whew! It's hot out there! I'm done cleaning under one pen, and almost the second. The thing is, I can't clean them out during the winter with all the snow, and this is my 'spring cleaning' so there's quite a pile. The temp. is 68 degrees out, feels like 80!;) Well, back to work I just came in for more garbage bags, and a tie.

Once again. .

I don't have much time, but just wanted to make a short post. We did get in here at Gram's rather late Monday night. Yesterday and today have just seemed to fly by.
Yesterday, I talked to Rebekkah!! It was lovely hearing her voice and talking to her, and talking to Erikah for just a sec. and even hearing her Mom's voice!;) I also spent alot of time outdoors. Walking, running, and biking. I challenged my younger bros. and cousin to a few races! I was barefooted, and ran kind of crazy to let them keep up! I also rode my cousins bike. hehe (she's 7) There was one situation that I didn't like. Amy, Gordon (cousin, 10) and I were on bikes and we're riding down the road. A neighbor kid and his friend were walking up. When I rode past I didn't even glance at them. Well, then I rode on past my cousin's house and around the apartments and was coming back to my cousins, when I realized I'd have to ride past them again, cause they were coming down now. Argh! When I rode past the kid, said "What's up?" and kind of held out his hand (which held a diskman). I glanced at him gave him a half smile a curt nod and went on my way. It annoyed me because he had an attitude like he was "all this" or something. Now don't get me wrong, if it was someone I didn't know, I may have been more courteous, even answered a Hello, possibly. But I know about this fellow, my cousin believes he's in a gang, etc. etc. Anyways, other than that yesterday was an almost perfect day! *grin*

And I must take my leave now. May not be on net again till next Monday when we come in. We've heading home tonight! Ta ta!

Just dropping in. . .

Well, I had a nice post mostly written when it got deleted. I don't feel like typing it all out again.
*sighs* I'll try to write some of it again.
I'm at home, I just got on for a bit to renew Mum's library books and search and order some more for her. So, I shan't be on long, just wanted to drop off a little 'note'! Tomorrow sometime we'll be going into Gram's.
Last night, Rachel called!! Thank you again for the lovely chat, Rachel! Sad to say, though I expressed that I would chat at the beginning, I was rather word-less!:| I learned I really need improvment on my phone skills! You did very well though Rachel! You kept the conversation going, I really enjoyed hearing about your squirrels and all! Hey, maybe if I obtain your number I could call you so we could talk more and I could improve on my phone skills, Rachel!
You know how I was complaining about it being so quiet now without the lovely presence and songs of 'our' chickadees and red polls? Well, today we had two different types of birds here!! We believe one is the Junco, and the other we are thinking is a White-crowned Sparrow! I'm going to look them up in my Gram's book tomorrow and make sure. I was out observing them through binoculars for quite a while this afternoon, their sooo pretty! (now why couldn't I have thought of something equally as interesting to tell you of last night?) I do apologize for my lack of speech!
I'm really looking forward to calling Rebekkah!! Probably on tues. I just hope I have some utterance of speech about me! You may have to step in, Bekkah!:p
Hummm. . is there anyone else I could call to help develope my phone skills?;)
Well, this is longer than planned, and I'm done with Mum's stuff now. So, I'd better go! G'nite!

T'is me again!

I just wanted to inform you (that is if anyone still comes by) that I've gotten motivated to work on the website that Rebekkah made me as a bday present (of which I am ever grateful)! I've started working on a few pages, which are no where near done, which aren't linked to the mainpage, and which I'm not really sharing right now!:p But, I did get a guestbook! You can clickee to go to the mainpage. Don't forget to sign the guestbook (and comment on Bekkah's wonderful web skills)!

Yesterday we went into town, and Mum left us kids at the Duck pond while she went to a hardware store (to get paint, etc). We had an enjoyable time observing the geese, ducks, etc. though I was kind of disgusted there was a whole flock of noisy, pesky Sea gulls. All of a sudden all the geese that were around the outskirts of the pond fly onto the pond, and the whole flock of Sea gulls took to the air, and kept circling and circling over head, filling the air with their screams. While looking around trying to determine what all the commotion was about, when my eye flew on a Bald eagle perched in the top of a big cottonwood tree! Though the geese, ducks, and sea gulls appeared to just be swimming around, fighting over food, etc. they were keeping a vigilant outlook, and sighted the eagle way before we did! The Sea gulls were the most displeased, and let EVERYBODY know it! After 5-10 minutes of perching up there, and calming observing all, the Eagle took flight and left. Gradually the sea gulls calmed down and landed back on the pond, and things went back to normal! We also saw 3 peacocks, 7 rabbits, also with some unusual looking chickens, and ducks, etc.
After that we went to a flooring store, and then most of us kids stayed at the library while Mum went to a couple of thrift stores and all. I had an enjoyable time, hadn't spent that long in a library in a while. I got four books. I read one, a Dear America book last night, it was a Gold rush diary, by Susanna Fairchild (fiction of course), and then I read "Anastasia" (the last Grand Duchess of Russia) today which is part of their The Royal Diaries series. I really like the name, but it was rather sad how they shot alot of the Imperial family.:( That is never pleasant to read, especially after you read their "diary" and feel you know them, by reading their thoughts, emotions, feelings, etc. (even when you know most of it, if not all is made up)
After that we went to a few other stores, oh, and in Wal-mart I ran into a lady that was at the Duck pond. I had told her about the Eagle, that was kind of neat. I also got two pairs of gloves! Goody, now I can use a shovel, rake, etc. as much as I like without my palm spliting open and all! Yes, I really dislike gloves, but it's kind of a have to thing.
Well, I'll be moving along now.

Well, here I am. Safe and sound? Well, I suppose!;) Yesterday was a emotional and physical exhausting day! But it was alot of fun! Dad brought two fellows up from our church, and while Dad painted the second coat on our house, (YAY!) they and my bros. moved a whole bunch of 2x4's and lots of our junk!;) Then we all (just about) pitched in and hauled sand. We loaded it in wheelbarrows, wheeled it around the house, from there it went down a chute into another wheelbarrow in our basement. It was then wheeled and dumped where needed. We had laid plastic down, and then spread out the sand about 4in. deep all on it, a good portion of our basement. After that, we went on a long and tiring, though enjoyable bike ride. Then we loaded up, cause we were taking them home on our way into here (Gram's). We stayed and visited for quite a while, and us kids played cops and robbers. It was fun, though being the oldest and the captain of my team, I had three after me! I got awfully scratched up, and did manage to get myself caught!:p Like I said, t'was fun. Then we came on in here.

Today my Aunt and Michael came out. Though by now I'm sure you're tired of hearing of him!;) He gives the most adorable biggest open mouth grins ever though! My Gram sent a whole bunch of seeds up, so they planted them this afternoon. Gram hasn't called yet, I'm kind of expecting her to call a bit later.

Today is a day to go down in history. I'm wearing a dress, AND a like it!;) *grins* Most dresses, they either don't fit me right, or I don't like them. So, I mostly wear jean skirts, I do have a few print ones, then wear either a short sleeve shirt, or button up. This dress is a blue and white check on the top and jean on the bottom. It buttons all the way down, but the last 5 buttons are missing, but Mum sewed it up. So, though it's nice, I'll only be wearing it around the house, unless I sew more buttons on. Anyways!:p

I think I'll put shoes on nana, and then take her out for a walk down the road. (I'll be in barefeet of course)

Owls

Night before last, I heard and saw two owls for my very first time in the 'wild'. We were at home, it was dusk, and I heard and then saw the one up in a tree! It was so awesome! It flew away, and then a bit later another (or the same one) perched up in another tree. We did hear two though.

Then the next morning, Amy and I got up at 6:30am and donned jackets and rainboots, and went down and walked in and explored the pond and our creek. It was as bright as mid-day, though chilly as an icebox!:p There was a layer of ice, but it broke with pressure, we explored for about an hour and a half, then had to head back, cause Amy had gotten water in her rainboots, and her feet were freezing. It was a blast. And I'm looking forward to more such explorations this summer!:D I'd like to take a night excursion here soon, to see what animals we can see and hear. Maybe the owls will be about, and I did hear a goose down on our creek that one evening. I'd have to get up WAY to early in the morning to catch 'em!:p (wasn't even dark at close to 11pm that night, and was fully light at 6:30am)

I went over all my Gram's emails with her this morning, feels good to have that out of the way. And I had a nice chat with Rachel last night, we're going to call each other to develope our phone skills. (hehe, actually I think she was kidding) Also, had a lovely chat with Rebekkah this morning! Now I'm gonna go get some lunch, and make a cake! See ya's!

My Dear Heavenly Father,

I am ashamed when I think that this is the first letter I've ever written you. Of the possibly thousands of letters I've written, no, I've never once written one for you. Tears are not coming to my eyes, as I think of your great love that you had for me, that love that was so great you died, yes, you an innocent died, with my sins plastered on you! Oh, how great is your love, and your tender-mercies! You loved me so, that you gave me a book, actually a Bible (book of books), to teach me more about you, and how to please, and draw nigh unto you. In it you show me what things you hate, and what you love. You show me how you made this world I delight and live in. And of your ministry here on earth, and how you died for me! Oh, if it were not written how could I believe it? That someone would die for such a miserable sinner as me. Your love, your tender-mercies, and loving-kindnesses, far exceed even the most pious mere humans!! God, you're so great, your wisdom . . . . . . well, you are the founder of wisdom. You are everywhere at once, and know every thought every single person is thinking, even before it enters their mind. You know all. God, you know my problems, the struggles I'm dealing with right now. God, please be with me now, strengthen me in this time. Give me the wisdom what to do, and the strength to carry those decisions through. And God, please give me a burning thrist, and unquenchable hunger for you, and to read your Word! And give me a desire to pray and lay all at your feet! Father, make me desire to have you, and you only in the forefront of my life. Make me to have a shaking, trembling fear of you! God, this is what my spirit desires! God, I do pray that you'll try me. And if that's what you're doing now, then Father, please give me the wisdom, strength and courage to get through it! God it's my plea you make me a Peter not a Judas! Please Father!
