Searching in the Darkness

As the sun sets on this world again,
I'm plunged into the dark
Scouring this darkened plane,
I continue the search for my heart

Though the search seems hopeless,
I continue on in vain
Because I must find an end
To this neverending pain

Searching in the darkness
Stumbling in fear
As the search becomes more hopeless,
I sense the end is near

But as the darkness starts to lift,
And my fear and dread subside
I discover that my heart has found
A new place to reside

My thoughts and dreams are all of her
She captivates my heart
She's put an end to my search
And saved me from the dark

6 days 'til March Break!

Well, I don't really have anything to report, but since I've gotten into a rut of posting every Friday night, why stop now?

Yeah, a pretty long, boring week, but today was kinda interesting. We got into groups and cooked breakfast in homeroom. That was pretty cool. We had chocolate chip pancakes, fried bacon and fruit salad. And interestingly enough, we managed to not screw everything up. Actually, everything was very good. And we had a spare in English, which is always nice, 'cause I hate Geiger's class. We got an assignment, but Kevin and I just played Scorched Earth on his laptop.

I never actually got around to going to the movies last week, so I think I'm gonna use my gift certificates tomorrow. I probably go see Daredevil if I can find someone to go with. So tomorrow, I'll have a movie review to post for you.

And I know I keep saying that I'm gonna go for my G1 soon, but now I am gonna go for sure, sometime this week. So if, after a week, I still don't have my G1, you have my express permission to slap me around.

So 'til next time,

"We're here for a good time, not a long time. So have a good time, the sun can't shine every day."

Happy birthday to me

Yeah, I know it's not my birthday today (it's Boyle's actually), but I haven't posted since my birthday, so my title stands. Anyway, my birthday was pretty cool. I don't really celebrate my birthdays anymore, but it was an interesting day to say the least.

Of course, it started off at school (I seriously think we should get our birthdays off) and Amanda and Rachel put a "special sweet 16 birthday announcement" on the morning announcements with the specific purpose of causing me embarrassment. Needless to say, it worked. And to top it off, they also left a "message" in the office for me - the "message" being a birthday gift, thereby embarrassing me further, and in front of Ms. Moss no less.

But after school, my parents took me out to dinner, and my sister came along as well. Then we all came home for ice cream cake. DQ ice cream cake rocks. It's got two layer of ice cream sandwiching a layer of fudge and chocolate cookie piece things. Mmmm... fudge and chocolate cookie piece things... [insert drooling noise here]. Yeah, my parents got me Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 for my new GameCube (one of the reasons I haven't posted 'til now, hehehe) and my sister gave me some money to put towards the Young Drivers course (and I think I'm actually gonna use it for that too). Oh, and my godparents came over last night and gave me some SilverCity gift certificates. I think I'll go this weekend... Anyone wanna join me? Yeah, so overall, I had a pretty cool birthday.

Well, as you probably know, I don't have my G1 yet (you know because if I did, I would be shouting it through the halls at Lockerby). I wasn't actually able to get the Drivers' Handbook (which of course the test is based on) until my birthday, mostly because I didn't know where to get it. But now I'm reading through it and I have the $100 so once I'm done it, I'll go take my test.

Well, school has been kinda weird lately. Yesterday, I had the easiest school day in my high school career. After homeroom (Family Studies, my bird course), I had a spare in tech and a field trip to Science North after lunch. Actually, the trip was pretty good. We went to see a lecture by some guy about something to do with, uh, ice and, uh, weather I think (you can tell I really payed attention, eh?). But seriously, the lecture was pretty good; little boring, but informative. And after we got to waste about 25 minutes just running around Science North, followed by lots of snowball throwing on the way back due to the warm weather.

Today sucked though. In English, we've been doing a bunch of writing and stuff, and Geiger scheduled personal conferences with everyone before and after school, to discuss our writing. Mine was scheduled for today, at 4:30. Anyway, after doing these stupid Merchant of Venice skits in class, which was bad enough, I had to wait for an hour and a half after school, doing nothing, waiting to go 1 on 1 with Satan himself. So I go to my thing at 4:30, and he doesn't even have my writing pieces to go over! Turns out he accidentally put them in with someone else's papers, who ran off with them after her conference. By now I'm pissed. I wasted 1½ hours, at school, for nothing and now I have to come back again, for another rescheduled conference!

Well that's my week in a nutshell (how'd it get in there?...). I'm done dumping on you guys and making you read about my pointless life for now, so 'til next time, in the words of Biff Pendragon,

"The world is my bagel!"

Ok...

I know I haven't posted in a while, even though have had things to write about since last Friday. Well, now I'm gonna catch up.

Well, yesterday was Valentine's, and more importantly for me, Semi-formal (I only say that because I was working at semi, and Valentine's Day means a whole lotta nothin' to me). Anyway, working at semi was pretty cool; Amanda and I were doing coat check, and we're gonna end up getting like 10 community hours. So in between the times when people were coming and leaving (about 6:30-7:00 and 10:00-11:00), we didn't really have to do anything. So we chilled to some music (Amanda even ended up joining the seniors on the dance floor), and we even got dinner, which was nice, 'cause I hadn't had anything to eat since noon. Yeah, we were kinda supposed to stay in the lobby, so Ms. Moss put together some plates for us and brought them out to us. The Italians really know how to cook.

Speaking of Ms. Moss, I saw one of the funniest things of my life. There were these two cops at the hall, one chick and one black guy. Anyway, the guy cop was standing near the doors and Ms. Moss came up and started dancing behind him. He's kinda getting into it, and then she starts grabbing his ass! ROTFLMAO, that was hilarious. Of all the times not to have a camera. Actually, a few girls ended up getting a picture of Moss and the cop.

Meanwhile, as semi-formal was taking place, my parents were out getting our new car! It's a really sweet silver Sunfire. And after I take my driving test this week, I'll be able to drive it. Only 3 more days until my birthday! Lol, I know you'll all be glad when my birthday's over, so I'll change my MSN screenname.

What else... Well, for what little I'm sure it means to most of you, I've been doing a lot of poetry and songwriting lately. I don't know, I guess I've just been *inspired* lately. And I guess, if you ask nicely enough, I could be persuaded to post a few.

And since you're probably real tired of reading this by now (congrats to those who actually made it this far), I'll cut out for now.

'Til next time,

T G I F

Well the first week is finally over. And with a relatively uneventful week for me, came an intersting end. This morning in tech. class, I was stupid and cut my finger on the bandsaw. The blade ended up digging a 2 mm-deep groove from my fingertip, through my nail, about 4 or 5 cm up the length of my middle finger. Fortunately, I got it cleaned out and bandaged up pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I didn't get to go home, lol. No, the worst part of this was really the fact that it was a dumb, careless mistake on my part, and I'm kinda embarrassed by the whole thing. That, and I had to get a tetnis shot tonite, 'cause of the metal blade. I really don't like needles. But all in all, I was kinda lucky. Since the blade moves downward, it coulda grabbed my hand and pulled it down and I might have ended up with a severed finger or two. Anyway, it's healing up nicely so once my nail grows out and the cut closes, it'll be good as new. May I mention, it makes it interesting to type this, so you'll understand if there are any typos.

Let's see, what else...

Well, Valentine's is in a week. Yeah, I kinda got conned into volunteering at the semi-formal. Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but either way, I guess that's how I'm gonna be spending the night on Valentine's Day. Not that it really gets in the way of anything, seeing as I'm not involved with anyone at the moment.

And my birthday is 4 days afterward! :D Only 11 days left, as I'm sure anyone on my MSN Messenger list is aware. Yeah, I'm mostly hoping my parents will pay for the Young Drivers course, and that I get a new game or three for my GameCube.

Oh, and Darien, don't kill yourself attempting your "360 Tweaked Indy" this weekend. Have fun at Searchmont. (Now that I think about, I'm pretty sure Darien left by now and won't see this 'til he gets back... Ah well.)

One last thing: Everyone with a downloading program, go download "Kazzer - Pedal to the Metal". This is an awesome song.

Wishing everybody love and happiness for Valentine's,

Lex Larmon

Back to school

Well here we are, back at Lockerby after a nice break. Semester 1's over and done with, and semester 2's just beginning. Today... well, today was everything one would expect from the first day of school. You know, pointless intros, couse outlines, etc. My course consists of Family Studies for homeroom, and then I have STEP Science, STEP English, and STEP Tech. Design. I'll be doing a lot more work this semester... *sigh* Ah well, what can you do? But I'm kinda bummed that Bertrand isn't my teacher for Family Studies, 'cause everything got screwed up with English and History courses and all the teachers ended up teaching different courses than they had expected. So I guess that the teachers finally know what it's like when our schedules get messed up and rearranged, lol. Yeah, so some teachers seem pretty cool, others seem like real hard-asses. Same old, same old. And this semester, I think I'm gonna try to work harder and actually get some work done.

Well let's see, what else is there to talk about...

Oh yeah, I think I wanna try and get a job soon. Well, a real job, not just the invoicing I do, lol. Especially if I want to start driving. I'll have to pay for gas, maintenance, insurance, etc.

On that note, I'm gonna be getting my G1 permit soon. Only 15 days 'til my birthday! :D And then, under my sister's advice, I'm gonna take the Young Drivers of Canada course, which lets me take the G1 road test 4 months early. Instead of waiting for a year after taking the first written test, you only have to wait 8 months. On the downside, the Young Drivers course is expensive ($525), but I'm hoping that my parents will pay for it >: )

And one other thing, Darien, if you actually bothered to read this, keep up the song recommendations. So far, they've been pretty great.

Keep watching the sky...
