Searching in the Darkness

As the sun sets on this world again,
I'm plunged into the dark
Scouring this darkened plane,
I continue the search for my heart

Though the search seems hopeless,
I continue on in vain
Because I must find an end
To this neverending pain

Searching in the darkness
Stumbling in fear
As the search becomes more hopeless,
I sense the end is near

But as the darkness starts to lift,
And my fear and dread subside
I discover that my heart has found
A new place to reside

My thoughts and dreams are all of her
She captivates my heart
She's put an end to my search
And saved me from the dark

Damn this has taken a long time. I'm getting pretty tired of Danchan's slow ass server, or whatever's making the we::blog so slow all the time.

Well now that I'm finally in, I can continue. Amanda's party was great, and she was actually there! (Inside joke. You see, a couple years ago, when Amanda was leaving Wembley, we threw a going away party for her, and she didn't even show up!) Anyway, I think everyone had good time. We watched Sweet Home Alabama and Panic Room, among other things. But, I must say, that the highlight of the party had to be Kevin's makeover. Lol, let me explain. It all started with this makeup kit that Amanda got as a present. They ended up doing all the girls, but that wasn't enough. No, they wanted to get that stuff on one of the guys. After a while of incessant pleading, Kevin gave in a little and just allowed them to paint his nails on one hand (bright red of course). Well after a while, they got the idea that since the nail polish was only one half of his fingers, they should finish off by putting makeup on only half his face! So while 3 girls held him down (and the guys sat and laughed) another girls applied the makeup. For about an hour, Kevin had eye shadow over one eye, blush on one cheek, lipstick on half his mouth, and nail polish on one hand. Eventually, they let him clean off his face, but of course, you need that industrial cleaner stuff to get nail polish off, which (I think) he doesn't have. So I wouldn't be surprised if he comes to school tomorrow, still with bright red nails.

And, as promised:

Song of the Week: Pedal to the Metal by Kazzer. This is an awesome song. I haven't been able to get this song out of my head since the first day I heard it. And the video's great too. What bugs me is I haven't been able to download it, nobody has it yet. But download the song if you can.

Question of the Week: What is "your song?" What perfectly represents you, your style, or your kind of music? As usual, reply in the comments.

Highlight of the Week: Definately Amanda's party. I got to hang with some friends, make some new ones, chill to some good music and movies, get to know Rachel better on the ride home, (please don't take that out of context), and of course see Kevin (well, half of Kevin) in makeup. What more could I ask for?

Lowlight of the Week: I guess it was finding out that I won't be going to see Québec this summer. I was looking forward to travelling through Québec with my family while Simon and Ariane were in Canada, but my dad missed so much work that we won't have enough money.

'Til next time,

"Put the pedal to the metal and I'm off, and never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Put the pedal to the metal, little more when it's scary
But one thing's for sure, I keep my foot on the floor"

Peace out

Sorry it took so long...

Hmm, after all this time, what to talk about...

Well, in about 11 hours, I'm gonna be at my friend Amanda's birthday party. I personally think birthday parties are a bit immature, but then again, it is her "sweet sixteen." It should be fun, and fortunately, I will actually know a bunch of people there.

As for the rest of the weekend, it's just me and my dad, 'cause my mom has skipped town for the weekend. She's in Kingston visiting her parents and her brother since it's her dad's birthday on April 2nd (actually the same day as Amanda's o_O).

School's been the usual messed up-ness that it usually is. A few rather interesting days though. Random english presentations that had to be entirely memorized, no paper or whatever. And the other day, I actually ended up having spares in my two morning classes. All morning in the cafeteria... o_O That was interesting.

Umm, my dad's driving me nuts with his new guitar nowadays. He just bought a new left-handed electric Yamaha and an amp. I swear, he's like a kid who just got a new toy for Christmas. What's really funny though, is that he still hasn't told my mom that he bought it, so he's been hiding the guitar and equipment for about a week or two, and only playing it when she's not around.

I'm getting some of my friends onto the we::blog lately, my friends Kevin and Chris have just gotten new blogs, which you can find in my links. Chris has already made a request on PROJECT's blog for a template, so that will be kewl to see when it's done. Kevin actually knows a thing or two about HTML beyond the extremely basic stuff (the stuff I know), so he's gonna be editing his own template.

Anyways, it's about quarter after one now, so I should probably be getting to bed since I wanna try and get at least a little work done before I have to leave for the party. I'll try and get up some "... of the week" stuff either tomorrow or Sunday.

Peace out,

Lex Larmon

Okay, I know I haven't been posting lately, but I haven't had a lot to say lately. I'll post later tonite. Right now I'm in a computer room for my Family Studies class, but I don't really have enough time to post.

And Biff's got his up too. Check it out if you want.

Belated post

Ok, I wanted to post yesterday, to continue giving the "...of the week" thing on Sunday, but my computer wouldn't really work right yesterday, so just think of this as from Sunday.

Yeah, so I had a relatively mundane March Break. I had homework to do, my job to do, and I hung out with some friends and stuff. I was gonna go see a movie with an old gift certificate I discovered when I cleaned my room (one of many things I found, hehe. It hadn't been cleaned since before Christmas. Sad, I know). But instead I just rented "The Ring." This is a very creepy movie. Anyway, a lot of my time was spent on my computers, since that is where I communicate, work, do schoolwork, play games and surf. A lot of my other plans got screwed, since I was supposed to babysit Damien again and go to Ottawa for a few days, but that all got cancelled.

As for the schoolwork, I had to work on a science project with Alex (as I'm sure you know already if you read the ranting on his blog), but what really bugged me was the English. I mean, this was supposed to be a break from school, and Geiger had us read Huck Finn and do three, count 'em, three assignments on it. Hehehe, but I got the book on tape at the library, and "read" it in about an hour. I'm so clever... >;) And for those who consider that cheating... oh well, what do I care?

I can't wait to see my new profile. I saw a preview of Biff's (scroll down) and it's awesome. Great job nee! But now it's got me wanting to see mine...

Song of the Week: Motivation Proclamation by Good Charlotte. Just listen to the lyrics. The quote on the byline of my blog title is actually the first line of the song. A very good song for when you're really bummed out. Check out the video too, if you can find it (kinda rare).

Question of the Week: What do you guys do when you get depressed or drained? That happened a bit to me this week. I don't really know why though... Anyway, I know that for me, I'll go listen to some good music or try and spend some time hanging with my friends, and do some serious writing. Why is it that the best songs/poems come from when you're really down? Anyways, reply in the comments.

Highlight of the Week: The fact that it was March Break!

Lowlight of the Week: Not being able to go to Ottawa, I was really looking forward to that, since I haven't really gone anywhere since summer.

Arrivederci i miei amici,

Lex Larmon

Summer 2004

I have a dream. No, I'm not talking about equal rights for all people, regardless of their race or colour, though that is an extremely noble dream. In fact, mine is more of a plan. A plan to visit my brother Simon in Switzerland. See, I've always hated the fact that the only time I see Simon is during the month he spends here in the summer. So I've made a conscious decision to do something about it. I'm gonna get a job this summer, and I'm expanding what I do for my mom with the invoicing. I'm gonna save my money, and by the time I finish grade 11, I'll have the $1000 or however much it is for a round-trip ticket to Switzerland. When we start summer break in '04, I'll be in Switzerland with my brother and his fiancé, Ariane. I'll stay with them until the time that they would usually come to Canada and come home with them.

This will be very cool for the following reasons:

- Well, obviously, I get to visit Simon and Ariane.
- I get to see Europe! I mean, Switzerland is a very small country. I could drive to France or Italy in like, an hour.
- Freedom from my parents. Hehehe, enough said.
- I love to travel and it would the first time I've seen Europe since I was 2, when I don't even remember it.
- The experience! I would just come back with so much from Switzerland. Memories, souvenirs, friendships, and probably a much better understanding of European culture and the French language.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta get working on finding a decent paying job for this summer...

TTYL,

Lex Larmon

My week in a nutshell

Yeah, I don't really wanna spend a whole lotta time here, posting on my blog, so I'll give you the abridged version.

Monday - pretty normal school day
Tuesday - got to miss class for hypnotist. Very cool show!
Wednesday - half day. Got out early with ticket to b-ball game
Thursday - missed more school with another ticket to basketball
Friday - no school! Day: plans got cancelled, so I hung out at home. Night: brought my nephew Damien over to babysit
Saturday - worked, babysat Damien
Sunday - worked, babysat Damien, brought Damien home

Side notes:

Well, I know I said you could beat me if I didn't have my G1, but it's not my fault, honestly! See, Wednesday was a half day, so I was gonna get it then. But I couldn't write the test where I thought and my Dad wouldn't drive me to New Sudbury. Friday, I couldn't go because my parents lost my birth certificate, which I need to prove my age. So now I have to wait 'til I get my new birth certificate. *sigh*

I've applied to get a new template for my blog. This "nee" person is offering a template-designing service. If you give her a few specs about you and what you want on your page, she'll design a custom template for you. Very cool, since I am HTML illiterate.

You may notice my new mood indicators with my title. Got them from imood. Got the idea from Biff.

And in keeping with stealing ideas, here's an idea of Sam's:

Song of the Week: 'Bring Me To Life' by Evanesence. From the Daredevil soundtrack. Don't base your opinion on the piano and mellow female singing at the beginning. Listen to the whole song, it changes a lot. The transition is actually a big part of why this song's so cool.

Question of the Week: What do you think of my title, "Feel it Turn"? It's actually a song by Great Big Sea and the byline is just some lyrics from it. Does it seem appropriate, or cheesy? Biff, you don't count because they're your fave band, you newfie.

Highlight of the Week: I was gonna say the hypnotist show, but I'd have to say babysitting Damien for the weekend instead. I was really cool to have him over, since I haven't seen him for like 10 weeks.

Lowlight of the Week: Continuously being denied my G1 test! This is starting to become annoying...

Peace,

Lex Larmon

Daredevil

Wow, a post, and yet it's not Friday... wierd huh?

Actually, I'm just following up on what I said last post about the movie review. Well I finally got to SilverCity last night and saw Daredevil with Biff. It was actually a very good movie. The plot was quite interesting, especially for a Marvel movie. And there is going to be a sequel. They don't say it, but there will be. It was pretty obvious. First of all, when the main "bad guy" says that it "isn't over," it usually isn't. And when you find out that everyone you assumed to be dead, is actually still alive, you just know there's gonna seek revenge. (After the extensive surgery, recovery and rehabilitation of course. Hey, they were supposed to be dead!)

I also got some great music from the movie. Just do an audio search for Daredevil and you should find some pretty sweet songs.

And now I really can't wait for X2 to come out. Partly because I saw the first one a little while ago on TV and partly because I saw a preview for it when I saw Daredevil. And for those of you who actually know Marvel Comics, remember Bobby from the first X-Men movie? Turns out he grows up to be Iceman.
