The semester's over...
Hey everybody, I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I've been kinda busy studying for exams and all (math exam tomorrow). That, and I've been pretty depressed. My girlfriend just broke up with me, and I've felt pretty awful lately. Lucy meant a lot to me... But I guess there's not much I can do but try and move on.
Coincidentally, a friend of mine, who shall remain nameless, and her boyfriend are breaking up too, and now I think I know how she feels... It hurts, it hurts a lot, and there's nothing you can do about it. I've tried doing some poetry and songwriting, and I guess it's helped a bit. So this is a poem I'd like to share with you guys:
It's been a bad day
I'm getting used to it now
Another sad day
I'd cry but I don't know how
I'm drowning in thoughts
Of how things used to be
My chest was shut tight
Free from injury
It's out in the open
Should've kept to myself
I'll learn from mistakes
Take my heart off the shelf
My soul has now fled
It's my body alone
There's far too much hurt
For my heart to come home
I give it up now
There's no way to win
Without you here
My world hardly spins
It's been a bad day
I'll try not to let it show
Another sad day
And I'm just letting go....

Thank you guys for the supportive, encouraging and complimentary words. I'll get over Lucy (actually, I'm kinda sorry you didn't get to meet her Alex, you probably woulda liked her), and I will keep writing poetry and songs. It's probably the only thing artistic where I have any sort of "talent." And I enjoy writing. It can be fun, and it really is "a great way to let out your feelings and vent."
And don't worry Biff, I'll keep Kirby dancin' all right. Time to PAAAAAAARRRRRRTTTTYYYYY!!!! <("<) (>")> <("<) (>")> <("<) (>")> <("<) (>")> <("<) (>")> <("<) (>")> <("<) (>")> <("<) (>")> lol, I love that pic.

I do believe you have some artistic talent after all!
well, Alex, it's kind of sad about your GF, especially considering that i didn't know about her until I read this page (my fault, i never thought to ask). I must say, the poem is absolutely astuonding! Aw...
I'm sorry to hear about you and your gf Alex. I know exactly how it feels. My bf and I are breaking up too... in less then 2 weeks because I'm moving.
On a brighter note though, your poem was fantastic. I love reading and writing poetry. Most poetry has an unidentified meaning that only the author understands, but, at the same time they have a brief meaning that others will understand. I find it's a great way to let out your feelings and vent, you know?! Keep up the great poetry writing! :-)
