Okay wow, school is scaring the shit out of me right now, well not so much school as University. It's only the beginning of the year and it seems you have to already know exactly what school you want to go to and exactly what you want to take. Everyone seems to have a plan but me. I still have no idea what I even want to do, I don't know what school I want to go to, don't know what the difference is between Bachelor of, Masters or PhD. I'm only 17 for God's sake do I really have to have my entire life planned out! I want to stay in drama because I have realized that is the only thing I enjoy doing at school anymore, but of course that's not a realistic job because very few can make it doing drama, so I was thinking psychology as my back up, but the problem is doing both at the same time, and where do I go, and how do I pay for everything, and God... I just don't know! I have so many questions?!

The problem with teacher's college right now is that they want Math and Science teachers more than anyone else.

I doubt taking a year off after high school would be of much use. The faster you get an education the faster you're out in the world, working and making a living for yourself.

One option you have is finding something you're good at. You don't have to like it right away, but it'll grow on you. I don't like Canadian History as much as World History, but I'm taking Canadian and I'm starting to like it. It's an enjoyable class.

The first step to paying for university yourself is getting a job. Yea... another story.

I know how you feel. I felt the same way at this time last year, going through the university thing. My suggestion is to go to as many of those presentations by universities and colleges as you possibly can. I limited my choice by only going to three... therefore I could really only choose to apply to three universities. Go to as many as you can, they're free... so why not?

What happens at university usually is the first time through you get your "Bachelors Degree" in whatever subject you choose to study in. This is the first step into getting a PhD, or masters and crap like that. Don't worry about the masters, etc. crap right now.

With your Bachelors Degree you can major in a subject and minor in a subject. As is implied, the subject you major in is your main study area and the subject you minor in is your back-up plan, in a nutshell.

So the easiest thing to do is decide what you want to study in the most, and then figure out a back-up study area... then go to all these presentations and figure out which university or college has the right programs for you. The one's you're most interested in, that will give you the most amount of personal growth.

And that is my 10 cents.

As you and Alex would say, "Scotch!"

Laurentian is offering a Forensic Psychology course now... but even then, I can name off many, many people who want to take psychology.

Taking a year off after High School is also an option.

February I think, is the latest you need to apply for programs at University, so the pressure isn't on you just yet. Still, it might be a good idea to start finding out what else interests you... Get a masters in Drama, then go to Teacher's College, then you can teach it if you want.
