My driving is improving, thank God becausing I'm having my G2 test May 27th, everyone cross their fingers. Today I backed down my driveway, and if you've seen my driveway you would understand why this is an accomplishment. I'm starting to really feel comfortable driving, it's so much easier now that it's not the winter anymore. The other day as I was driving home, right by my house there's this straight stretch where I like to go really fast, I was going 100 where the limit is 80 and my Dad was like "You know what'd be great? If you got a ticket." I looked over and there was a cop car there, well I had to slam on the breaks to slow down. Tootles
I'm bored and I don't have much to say, but I haven't posted in a while so what the hell. I am proud to say I am no longer broke. I babysat this weekend. First I babysat on Friday for 5 kids ranging from 8 months to 11 years old. Luckily however the two eldest played to together all night so it wasn't that hard, but the bonus was these people paid me $10 an hour. That's awsome, more than minimum wage. Everyone else I babysit for only pays me $5. I hope I babysit for them more often. I babysat again on saturday, but unfortunately one of the kids got sick. But I am proud to say I made $100 bucks this weekend, plus my brother owes my $20, I still haven't got my birthday card from my Nonna (which alwyas has $50 in it) and Simon owes me $20 (which I don't expect to get back), so I feel rich. Also my friend Jocelyn bought my ticket for the Hawaiin Luau because she owed me money, that means I actually get to keep my money, yay! Speaking of the Luau I was making a skirt for it because I have like 5 pairs of jeans that are unuseable so I decided why not cut them up and make something useful. So first I thought my sewing machine didn't but it did, and then the bobbin ran out of thread, so I had to put a new one in, but I had no idea how to thread the bobbin, and then I searched on the internet and it worked, for a little while, then it just plain broke. So my skirt is only 1/4 of the way done so it won't be ready for the dance which makes me sad. Oh well. Today I had to present my english oral presentation, but of course I am the biggest procrastinator ever, so I wrote it all during everyone else's presentation. I work so much better under pressure. I see noone's commented on my trip to New York, ya I don't think I would have read that whole thing either if I were you. Lol. Tootles
Parents can be so cute sometimes. This morning I slept in because well I could and I didn't expect "The Easter Bunny" to actually come, but my brother woke me up around noon and my mom had actually "hid" (that is to say put in absolutely obvious places) some chocolate eggs. What a sweetie. Tootles.
(Technically it's April, 9, 2004 but I think this is in a different time zone so it has the wrong date) Seen as it is now officially my Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am making a list of goals, some longterm, some shortterm, but things I want to eventually do, and I'll probably add more when I think of them. 1) Go skydiving 2) Star in a feature film 3) Star in a Broadway show (which ties into #4) 4) Learn to sing...well 5) Figure out what I want to do as a career 6) Get a boyfriend (if this keeps up as Matt put it, he'll probably have a boyfriend before me) 7) Get out more and try new things 8) Stop being such a slacker and at least try to do my homework ever night 9) Travel: return to Italy and stay at least a month, visit Ireland and the maritimes, and all over the world 10) Meet new people
I can't think of any more right now, but when I do (which I'm sure I will) I'll add them. Tootles
Okay this is the third and last time I try to post this. The first time it didn't work because my internet was being dumb, and the second time I had to go to dinner before I could finish typing this and its a damn long post so just sit back and enjoy. It's been crazy long since I've posted on here; a mixture of lazyness and my life being boring, but I just got back from the best bandtrip ever so now I have tonnes to tell. Okay to begin, the band trip started last Wednesday, we left the school at about 5:00 p.m. on a 17 hour busride. Yes I said 17 hours! Thus we obviously had to sleep on the bus, or should I say not sleep. I tried about 70 kajilion positions and still couldn't fall asleep, I'm guessing I got about 4 hours of sleep. Reminds me of my days back in Blue Saints, awww nostalgia. Well after we got to New York we couldn't check into our hotel so I had to change and put my contacts in on the bus (note:there was a bathroom so don't think I just stripped down in front of everyone). I was so afraid of poking myself in the eye or dropping one of my contacts, but luckily I and my contacts are fine. The first place we visited was The Statue of Liberty. It was pretty cool, but it sucked that you're not allowed to walk up to the top anymore because of the terrorist attacks. After the statue we finally went to the hotel, it was so nice to take a shower after being on the bus for 17 hours. That night I went to my first ever Broadway show. Most of the school went to see Mama Mia because they had payed in advance, but six of us along with Ms. Orlando decided to go see another and bought our tickets from the TKTS booth (it's a booth in the middle of times square where basically all the tickets you buy are 50% off) we got our tickets to go see Gipsy for only $54 American, that's pretty good considering Mama Mia was $99 Canadian and we were still in pretty good seats. For dinner that night I went to a chinese restaurant called Ollie's and am proud to say I ate the entire dinner with chopsticks, even the rice which took forever. After dinner we went to see the show, which was pretty good. It was a play about an overbearing stage mom who basically drives one of her daughters to run away and the other to become a stripper. There were some hilarious parts especially the other strippers, one of which had an outfit that lit-up. The next day we had a tour of the city, well I guess just Manhatten because that's where we stayed the whole time except our hotel which was in New Jersey. We got to see Central Park and our guide showed us where some celebrities live. She also showed us the part of the park where the scene from Big Daddy where they throw the sticks in front of the rollerbladers was filmed. The whole time I was on the look-out for celebrities and didn't see one. Then we had time to go shopping, I didn't find much, but it was still pretty cool to walk down 5th Avenue and see all the fancy stores. I basically avoided any store with a doorman because I knew I couldn't afford anything from there. For dinner we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, it was okay. That night we were supposed to go to the Empire State building, but Ms. Orlando had asked some of us if we wanted to go see another Broadway show, and at first Mr. Taillefere said "no", so we when he told us to stay on the bus we just expected him to explain to us why we couldn't go, but then he was like "okay how many are there? Ten. Okay." and we were all like what's going on, and he told us we were going. It was sooooo awsome. Again we had to go to the TKTS booth and this time our tickets were only 41$ and I got to sit in the THIRD ROW!!! It was soooo awsome because every once in a while one of the performers would look directly at you, and a couple were pretty cute. After that we had to find our own way back to the hotel because the rest of the band was already back at the hotel and probably asleep. We walked to the bus station and had no idea what we were doing, but eventually found out how to get back and it only cost us $2.80 and it was a coach bus. When the bus dropped us off it was only a ten minute walk to our hotel and we could see it in the distance but had no idea how to get there, so Ms. Orlando had to flag down a police officer to find out how to get back. As we were walking Raili and I saw this bag thing and thought it was a homeless person and it scared the crap out of us because we were right next to a highway and we thought it was going to jump out at us, but it turned out it was just a bag. We got back to the hotel at about 12:30 a.m. and had to get up at 5:00 a.m. because we had to perform well I guess technically that day seen as it was 12:30 p.m. Plus I had to sleep on the floor because we had five people in our room and we weren't allowed to order a cot because technically we weren't allowed to have five people. The net morning my friend Jocelyn scared the crap out of me because I was on the ground talking to Alex and I looked over and she was dressed in all black (for the performance) and I actually screamed. It was hilarious. That day we performed at a HUGE church and between performances we got to walk around and seen as there weren't any stores Jocelyn and I spent our time looking for out of state lincense plates, and found 17 different states. That night we got our awards. All our bands got silver, and if you don't know that in band silver doesn't actually mean second place I'm not explaining it to you. That night we also had dinner and dance on a boat. Of course there were only about 5 tables seating about 8 people for 5 schools, so obviously the majority of us just sat on chairs and ate off our laps. The dance was really fun though. That night was supposed to be the one good night of sleep we had, but of course it was daylight savings time so we lost an hour of sleep. That morning we left New York, unfortunately, I want to get rich and move back because being rich is the only way you can live well. We got back to home at 2:30 a.m. Monday, so obviously I had to stay home and sleep in until 1:30 p.m., hehehehe. Of course I feel sorry for the other bus which broke down and didn't get in until 7a.m. In other news, it's my Birthday this friday, Good Friday, I get the day off of school which is crazy awsome, it's like the school board is giving me a present. Of course I don't really have anything planned because my parties always suck, because my room is sooo small and I have friends from a bunch of different groups who don't get along, so there's usually a lot of silence and akward conversation. I'll probably just go to the movies with a couple of friends. I want to see The Girl Next Door but I think it's rated R. Stupid, I'll see it when it comes out on video anyway, GRRR, so I guess I'll have to see something else, if you have any suggestions tell me. Well I think this post is getting long enough and I've run out of things to say. Tootles
