And I said to God "Why Me?" and God said to me "Why Not?"
Music: Existentialism On Prom Night -Straylight Run O ME! O life! Of the questions of these recurring, Of the endless trains of the faithless, Of cities fill'd with the foolish, Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?) Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew'd, Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me, Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined, The question, O me! so sad, recurring-What good amid these, O me, O life? The Answer, that you are here. That life exists and identity, That the powerful play goes on, And you may contribute a verse. What will be your verse?
Makes you think...
Not capable of love...are there any sadder words to describe a man? I think not, and wish that I could now assess Wulfgar's state if mind differently. But love, honest love, requires empathy. It is a sharing --of joy, of pain, of laughter, of tears. Honest love makes one's sould a reflection of the partners moods. And as a riin seens larger when it is lined with mirrors, so do the joys become amplified. And as the individual items within the mirrored room seem less acute, so does the pain diminish and fade, stretched thin by the sharing.
That is the beauty of love, whether in passion or friendship. A sharing that multiplies the joys and thins the pains. Wulfgar is surrounded now by friends, all willing to engage in such a sharing, as it once was between us. Yet he cannot so engage us, cannot let loose those gurds that he necessarily put in place when surrounded by the likes of Errtu.
He has lost his empathy. I can only pray that he will find it again, that time will allow him to open his heart and soul to those deserving, for without empathy he will find no purpose. Without purpose, he will find no satisfaction. Without satisfaction, he will find no contentment, and tihout contentment he will find no joy.
and we, alll of us, will have no way to help him. --Drizzt Do'Urden
Funny how a fictional character, could strike the nail so squarely on the head. *basks in the wisdom of R.A Salvatore*

The 20th Century drug of choice...TV
"Oh greatest of the mass media, thank you for elevating emotion, reducing thought and stifling imagination. Thank you for hte artificiality of quick solutions and for the insidious manipulation of human desires for commercial purposes. This bowl of lukewarm tapioca represents my brain. I offer it in humble sacrifice. *puts bowl infron of TV* Bestow thy flickering light forever!" --excert from calivin and hobs.
