...with the backlog of weblog submissions! 
 
There are 3,000 more weblogs in the index which brings the total number of sites spidered to 10,500!

I think links on blogs will not be counted anymore by google, just like guestbooks. I've been watching some sites that had hundreds of links from weblogs. Now google displays only a few links to these sites when you seach for backward links.

Thanks! I've seen several links from daypop yesterday alone. Perhaps I was fatfingering my search query or something. Incidentally, thanks for a great site.

And when do we show up in the results?

I see the daypop bot in my logs now, sure enough. But I've never managed to create a search that makes my blog show up in the results. I've tried searching for the name of my blog, for topics I've recently listed, still no dice.

I have to agree...

I've submitted three or four times over the last four months... even sent a nice email asking what I can do to get listed. All to no avail-- even after the 3,000 update.

a feature to think about

it would be nice if people who submit a site for inclusion can opt to receive an email when the site is added or rejected
