Studio Ghibli (^^)/

Ever wonder where Hayao Miyazaki, the maker of such acclaimed animations like 'Princess Mononoke' and 'Laputa-Castle in the Sky' worked on his films? Here's a tour of his :

STUDIO GHIBLI

For those of you who are only impressed by numbers, Miyazaki's latest animation - 'Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi' (Spirited Away) just had the highest opening record in Japan, racking up roughly $16 million in four days. Why is this significant? His last work - 'Princess Mononoke' amassed a national box office count of $150 million in Japan, not all that far off from the $207 million record set by 'Titanic'. Could this be the one to topple the giant?

Miyazaki's animations deal with complex post-war Japan subjects like death, destruction, and industrialization through surreal civilizations and environments that extrude a serene sense of perfection and nobility. While Disney animations might leave you with the impression of justice prevailing, Miyazaki instead instills a sense of paradise lost and despair in our struggle to deal with inevitable progressions of the world (but not without the punch line - hey, c'est la vie!).

$1 question for Greggmon...

Yo Greggmon (yes I've been smoking some stuff my crack dealer Johnny C gave me), is there a playstation II that supports all region DVD? That'll be like, a very cool thing for my wish list that I'm faxing theVooner to help him with his mo' money, mo' problem complex.

Thank you for your attention, have fun in HK with your new found friend on danchan.com, a place where shallow communities flourish, and a happy happy place for all ex-convicts of leud crimes.

b2 security fix

Attention b2 users: I am the chief developer of the Mac port of b2. There's been a security hole in b2.

It's the b2install.php file. I would recommend you remove this file upon installation of your blog files -- running this file again will most certainly wipe out all existing posts and accounts!

Michel has promised to provide a warning to delete this file in the next version of b2, while b2mac beta users need not worry: the b2install.php file will be deleted automatically.

MEGA PARTY in Taiwan!

Wow! I wish I can goto this FormOZ thing, it's a 3 day party! I wanna see LMF in action, everyone who seen them say they rock da house!

Other notable chink groups - Tan Dynasty: They're like a pretty famous band from China. CEO - These Taiwanese band members were sued for alleged gang raped awhile back, living down to their evil rock n roll life style.

PS. Hey, so like heavy metal is still IN in Taiwan okay?

All your prints are belong to us!

Just had AN HOUR long seminar on our office's new print tracking program, which essentially records every little prints we make from drawings to leud web sites to resume I should be writing but never got around to yet.

It's a wonderful system that should go well with the program they will sooner or later implement that tracks every key stroke you make, every cups of coffee you drink, every flush of the toilet (no double flushing), every breathe you take (raising office temperature=higher energy bill), and every moment you're staring into space and thinking - what the hell am I doing here?

Corporate Amerika rocks!

Let's get Danny in trouble instead of me by posting it here

From the memepool, is this a good thing, a bad thing, or just a big nothing?

It appears there's a whole slew of them. My friend Willis would be very happy.

Anybody have any ideas if this is a U.S. thing? There's no addresses anywhere on the pages. There's a legal warning about stealing their pictures. An interesting development. Is this really any different than watching TLC when they first started back when they were 13? I wonder if/where the line gets drawn from just good clean fun to exploitation. Here in Japan it's very common to have lots of teen girls in bikini's boosting up their boobs by folding their arms across their chests. I'm not sure at what age it gets legal to display yourself in underware or even nude although of course in Japan even adults can't be seen completely nude.

Disappearing soon

SGI is of course downsizing since they SUCK ASS and the result is that one of their web servers that hosts lots of personal sites is being taken down. I would assume that much of it will be moved but just in case, check this site out before it disappears. The links are cool too.

I really need to take this to heart

WARNING
If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all who claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think everything you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told you should want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned .... Tyler

The nineth wonder of the world!

Talk about an architectural monument for the next millenium! This holly ground of consumerism worship will surely be ranked with the likes of the Pyramid, the Parthenon, and the Pantheon!

Through a corporate rendering that is worthy of Piranesi, we see the new face of CENTURY CITY coming to live right before us!

I'm fighting post ecstacy depression now (>_<)

Since reality can hardly compete with the ethereal sense of life you feel with E...

If one got a peek of heaven then gets kicked back down onto the ground, would he feel the mortal world is worth living and fighting for?

I suppose if you believe enough, then it is, but I don't right now...
