Opening my blog to all.
Hi ! Many friends visiting my blog have trouble posting their hellos as my blog is NOT open to all. Can some one tell me how it can rectified ? I checked the template but couldn't find that preference anywhere.
Thanks. Soney.

Just Some Environmental Stuff
A report I read today said that "13,000 people die each day from illnesses related to their drinking water."
Assuming those numbers are accurate, that comes to 4,680,000 people a year, or 1 person every 7 seconds. Over what? Water.
Whether it's contaminated, impure, or simply scarce, it's still because of water.
By no means am I the first to think of this idea, but what about using solar-power water filtration plants? Using the right materials, you can purify water of even the poorest quality using condensation. Apparently, someone beat me to the idea more than 50 years ago.
Let it evaporate and collect again. All the hard metals, bacteria, salt from sea water, or what have you, is left behind. The result is water of the best possible purity.
And again, using the right apparatus, there would be no moving parts, resulting in virtually no maintainance. It would not consume any power because it would be producing it's own via solar.
http://www.eco-web.com/cgi-local/sfc?a=/editorial/index.html&b=/editorial/02090.html for more on the apparatus I'm talking about.
What I'd like, for anyone who's got a mintue or two, is to share ideas. What do you think about this idea? Can you maybe suggest another or possibly better idea? What are the pros? The cons? What about other environment related topics? Food shortage? Globl Warming? Desertification? Let's hear it.

cinta sejati
aku tahu ramai yg tak mengerti erti kata ini, aku juga begitu tetapi pada pandanganku, cinta sejati tidak mengharapkan balasan apa2 dari yg dicinta, cuma kebahagian dirinya, kan bisa menjad utama, tetapi apalah pula kisah si penyinta, lemas dibawa ombak kerinduan, cinta yg meluap2 persis gunung berapi yg menanti untuk melepaskan, aku di sini pencinta yg setia, madah lagu kata hari ini, cinta sejati... mengapa perlu dibiarkan diri dianiayai sendiri, mengapa? memikirkan tentang si dia tanpa kenal erti jemu, mengharapkan hujan dgn menyiram air ke baju di ampaian, hujan tak turun.. air di rumah pula kehabisan, begitulah lara seorang penyinta sejati.

Sick of Jump Day
Okay, folks, let's look at this idea of "Jump Day". Suppose everybody on the planet weighed 100kg (which is an overestimate, 70kg is more like it, probably less). Suppose that there were ten billion people (another overestimate - there are about 6.4 billion at the time of writing). Suppose that they all jumped ten metres in the air (a huge overestimate, fifty centimetres is more likely and probably much less). Suppose they were all at the exact same point on Earth (which they won't be, thus mitigating the effects of the jump). And lastly, suppose that they all jumped at precisely the same instant, which of course they will not, seeing as the time difference between the fastest watch and the slowest will likely be over five minutes.
Altogether that's a mass of one billion tonnes of humanity jumping ten metres in the air.
The Earth has a mass of... let's be nice and round it WAY down to 10^21 tonnes (it's actually 5.9736*10^21 tonnes). That's a trillion times heavier than all of humanity. Which means the distance the Earth moves when everybody jumps will be one trillionth of the distance that all the people jumped: that is to say, 10^-11 metres, or about half the radius of a hydrogen atom.
It gets better. Even assuming the Earth did move by some significant distance when everybody jumped, just think about it: it'd move right back again! You jump up, the Earth goes down: you fall down, the Earth comes up to meet you. Jumping up and down to try to move the Earth is like trying to push a sailboat with a fan mounted on the boat. It just doesn't work!

What about Gay and Lesbian parents?
The Educational Institute of Scotland has produced a very useful document covering Lesbian and Gay equality in Education called, “Breaking Down the Barriers”. This document points out that in schools, there are a wide variety of family arrangements; both birth parents live at home in a married relationship; adoptive parents; single parenthood; extended family arrangements; new families through remarriage; gay or lesbian parent …Without an inclusive and non-discriminatory approach young people may feel their family arrangement is perceived to be ‘second best’.
Sometimes a teacher’s actions can have a powerful effect.

Homophobic bullying
Homophobic bullying has been reported in primary, as well as secondary schools. It may be directed at young people of any sexual orientation and at children who have not yet reached puberty. Teachers, parents and other adults in schools may also be bullied in this way.
Homophobic bullying in schools can be a problem in a number of ways:
Children who experience it have their education disrupted. They may be unable to concentrate on lessons because of feelings of fear or anger. Their self-confidence may be damaged and, as a result, they may never fulfil their academic potential. It can be a particular problem for teenagers who are confused or unsure about their own developing sexuality. Some victims are driven to the edge of despair or beyond, with lasting consequences for their emotional health and development. Schools that ignore it, or deny its existence, are not helping young people to develop a concern for the welfare of minorities and tolerance of difference. Both sexes can be involved in homophobic name-calling. However, anecdotal evidence suggests that boys are most likely to be victimised by other boys. The bullying, especially if it is physical or verbally aggressive, is often deliberate but sometimes bullies may not realise the harm that they are doing. They may believe that their victim enjoys their “jokes”, or that the label they have attached to him is simply a nickname.
Some very young children indulge in homophobic bullying. In one Scottish primary school the head teacher reported that boys as young as seven regularly used words like “poof” and “gayboy”.
Teachers are rarely accused of such overt actions but, by the careless use of words such as “sissy” or by simply failing to challenge homophobic name-calling, they can be perceived as giving tacit approval. One mother described what happened to her 9 year old son:
He is a sensitive wee boy who doesn’t enjoy sport. On a cold wet windy day he was standing shivering on the rugby field when the PE teacher came over to him and said, “If you’re just going to stand there shivering why don’t you do what you do best - go and play with the girls”.
