A Canticle for Leibowitz

Fiat...

..."let it be done." So Lux Fiat means "let there be light." Lux Home, "let there be man," Fiat Voluntas Tua is "Thy Will be Done" with "will" meaning God's will. I am not 100% sure of this (not Christian), but I do remember learning Lux Fiat in Latin class because the teacher always said it when she came into the room and turned on her desk lamp. I guess she thought she was God

Anyway, followed a link from BookCrossing and now you have four readers.

Not so.

The Latin word "Homo" means "man" (as in Homo sapiens). "homo-" is a Greek word stem meaning "same" (as in homogeneous). Details are available at this dictionary.com page.

Your latin is bad...

Homo does not mean "man" - it means "same".
