Cuti yg memenatkan tapi mengumbirakan...
Takdak orang. Tandas bersih dan surau pun OK. Alhamdulillah. Lepas isi minyak lagi kat stesen Petronas, pergi cari kopi pulak di stesen sebelah. Apala...petronas, patut ada jual minuman panas. Tak payah la, nak pii stesen sebelah. Masa di immegresen, cepat aja cik di kaunter tu, hulur balik pasport. Issshhhh, dia ni tak periksa ker ? Memang pun, rupanya dia tak cop pun pasport pembantu rakyat asing yang bersama kami tu. Agaknya tak perasan, sebab warna lebih kurang sama. Akibatnya, masa nak masuk balik ke Johor, kena mengadap pegawai atasan. Then, off we went into Singapore. There's something about S'pore, I cannot explain it, but kind of mystical to me which make me Happy inside ! What I know is, this is the hometown of my Sweetheart, my best friend, the opponent of my quite-frequent debate session, my co-pilot, and most importantly, the Mother of my 5 cuties. We had quite a busy Day in S'pore. Spend the whole first day in nenek's apartment. Second day saw our 'Escape to the Zoo' become 'Escape to the Science Centre'. Thanks to the pouring rain, we managed to catch the grand adventure to Grand Canyon at Omni-Theatre. Wow, to watch the greatness of Allah creation ! What else can you say, except Allahu Akhbar ! Emmm... anyway, the roller coaster feeling came again, when the film run through the canyon, up and down, complete with the sound effects. In the evening off we went to Bedok Reservoir. Another compulsory spend-the-night place, when we visit Singapore. Co-pilot and me managed to persuade the kids to spend their time watching VCD and playing PS2, while we went for a stroll at Geylang Serai. We heard that the famous Geylang Market is going to be torn-down for development of the area. So this could become our last look at the place. But because it was already dark, the market was closed. So as usual, we did our window-shopping at Joo Chiat Complex. Then ta-pau some nuggets at McD and of course our main menu, Rojak Singapore at Haig Road Food Centre. Next day, we went back to nenek's apartment. After lunch, the whole army marched to Lot 1. Ain, since day one, kept pestering us to get her a Chemistry CD, mentioning that it couldn't be found in any KL music shop. I still didn't agree to that. But since we had found one, we might as well just grabbed it together with Umar's choice of Ju-On:The Grudge2. Ali got his wallet and so did Na. At 7-Eleven, topped-up our Autopay card and finished up the $5/- value in the old card. (Since we changed car, we have to get new card at checkpoint). Slurpees for the kids then... After Asar, while the kids were busy scaring themselves with Ju-On, the elderly went to visit a family friend. This is another compulsory house to visit during Hari Raya. And recently the head of the family was hit with a stroke. The visit brought many old memories between them. As an 'outsiders', I could only smile and smile and smile while listening to them. And it is nice to hear how the children?s work together to help their sick father. Even though they employed a dedicated maid just to look over the father, they will take turn to bath him, take him to hospital, feed him or just to sit and talk to him. Like we always said 'sejuk perut ibu mengandung'. Sometimes, it is the opposite of what we heard about the Singaporean Malays. Even though they are more advanced, trendy, daring (?), up-to-date, we can still encounter with those who still clenched to the religious values and eastern way of life. After Maghrib, and after packing our shuttle with goodies from atuk and paksu, we bade our goodbyes to our dear family. May we meet again soon! ~adios~.
