do or die - setan merah vs setan merah
irony ke tak bila dua-dua team yang mempunyai gelaran yang sama di negara masing-masing akan bertembung di semi final. mungkinkah setan yang paling durjana yang akan menang???? it is highly unlikely that milan can beat man u 7-1 in the semi-finals of the champions league next week. however, by hook or by crook, milan must beat manchester united. it's no longer just a game but milan must somehow salvages the dignity of the whole serie a team after roma's humiliating defeat to man u. with three english teams in the semi finals, the epl fans have all started bragging about epl being the best league in the world and i couldnt stand that. yes, i do support and love liverpool but i am also a fan of ac milan and a follower of the serie a. and i too felt embarassed with what had happened to roma. how could totti and co did that to themselves, we would never have the answer. is it possible for a football team to win a game just by sheer willpower? i wish they could because the ac milan of today is not the same milan who beat man u in the CL's semi finals two seasons ago. the ac milan of today is a badly wounded team which are on the mend but somehow ended up a cripple. i know my rambling this time isnt making any sense but that's just how i see milan. i think there are two possibilities here if history was to repeat itself:- 1. two seasons ago, ac milan beat bayern munchen in the quarter finals, defeat man united in the semi finals and emerged as the winner of the champions league for the sixth times; or 2. man united will win another treble like they did in 1999. oh Tuhan, please, dont let man united win a treble this year. otherwise i could no longer go to the gym as there are too many man united fans there for me to handle. i can still remember in 1999, my boss at the time, Mr. Kamarulzaman or Kam who's an avid man u fan was on leave but still he had managed to sms me. i can still remember every word - siti, treble ti, treble.... Simple word yes but yet so painful. please, please God! oh man! i couldnt bear to see man u beat ac milan. i would never admit this to a man u fan but since nobody read this blog except for UNSUNGHERO (and he is a lilywhites or to the uninitiated, a spurs fan,), i think it is safe for me to say that manchester united do look far more stronger than milan and have the better chance to go to final. sheesh! bite my tounge. seriously though, i would never admit that in front of a man united fan, NEVER. cabut kuku pun aku takkan admit. in the first quarter final, i chose to watch liverpool vs psv eindhoven and they won 3-0 in an away game. at that time to me, liverpool was already a sure winner. so, in the second quarter final, i chose to watch the milan game. i figured milan needed all the support they could get. i know i can be the most pessimistic fan in the world but somehow i wanted so badly for milan to beat bayern munchen at the allianze arena stadium just like the azzurri beat the germans last july. but watching milan played in the first 20 minutes made me felt helpless. it's been a difficult season for ac milan i know. i've been through worst time with ac milan before in the late 90s but after enjoying so much success, it's kinda difficult to go back to being an ordinary team. but milan isnt an ordinary team, even when all its main defenders just got back from injury accompanied by a rusty ageing forward, they still got through to the semi final of the CL. that is definitely out of ordinary. i am proud of them really. not long ago, there's a debate going on about what is the most important in a football game. to play ugly and win or to play beautifully but lose. at this rate, i dont care how milan plays as long as they can win. but you know what, during the second quarter final, i could glimpse the old milan here and there, in their accurate and slick passing, in seedorf's defense splitting shot, in pirlo's perceptiveness and kaka's energy and creativity. all that and of course the mental toughness that the italian team has, made it possible for them to beat bayern. and not forgetting my Nesta. he is so brilliant. a bit sloppy or rusty but that was to be expected after a long absence. IMHO, he was the man of the match in that game. he ruled the back four line man! beautiful as always to watch his defending skill though i wish he would do something with his hair, serabut gila. ok back to the game, i dont know whether nesta and co. will have the strength to stop man united's fluid attack especially from much younger players like rooney and ronaldo but i do hope their experience, skill, patience, mental toughness and fans' prayers will help them go through to the final. no team is perfect. manchester united must have a weakness somewhere and i pray to God that it will be Milan which will discover them. as for milan, they are a team full of weaknesses. i just wish they know how to hide them and hide them well. forza milan. i love you:- Maldini, Nesta, Cafu, Dida, Pirlo, Gattusso, Inzaghi, Seedorf, Ambrosini, Serginho, Dida, Jankulovski, Bonera, Oddo, Favalli, Kaka, Kaladze, Gilardino, Gourcuff, Simic and Brocchi.
