it was difficult to watch the match between arsenal and man united and not taking sides. as i was not a fan of both teams, i thought i could at least remain neutral while watching the game.
when two giants meet, we can always expect a little drama and lots of excitement through the full 90 minutes. however, the clash between the gunners and the red devils last sunday was a nightmare for a football fan like me.
in a game where referee and linesman are as important as the players, i expect a referee to be above everybody else on the field, for 90 minutes at least. it's simply tragic to watch mike riley made one blunder after another and another and another throughout the whole 94 minutes. he had in my humble opinion brought disgrace to the refeering world, he was up there with the like of the ecuadorean referee Byron Moreno whose bad judgment evoked the wrath of the italian fans during the 2002 world cup.
when you watched the game as a neutral, you would think that the referee might have leaned more towards the man united players or in short, biased. i thought several tackles by the man united players were simply atrocious. how could riley turn a blind eye on such occasions, i did wonder. the bad tackle from behind on reyes could finish his career, so was the tackle on ashley cole. you could see how the neville brothers pounced on reyes everytime they got a chance and you could not help but think that those two villains were trying to force reyes out of the game through injury and that was simply vicious.
i dont know about everybody else but i have noticed that referees tend to be a little biased towards big teams. i've seen it happen in milan's game and also real madrid. even though i'm a milan fan, it doesnt mean that i like it when a referee turns a blind eye when the players became "a little naughty".
harsh tackles could end an opponent's career but it can be avoided if a referee is fair and firm. mere warnings wont stop players from doing just that because they think they can get away with it. that's what happened in the recent game between arsenal and man united.
diving and theatrical acts by the players also disgust me. the way they play, i think they dont know the meaning of fairplay. i felt really "tired" watching the game and emotionally wrought. the football game on sunday though entertaining was marred by scandal that questioned the integrity of both referees and players. i for once did not enjoy my sunday night football.
sheesh! i am missing Signore Pierluigi Collina, who has retired from international football. he is of course one of a kind. fortunately, i can still watch him in action in serie a

we had been planning to spay our cat for more than a year now and finally last saturday we took gendon for a trip to the animal clinic. this was it gendon, after today, you wont be able to mate again, not that we will allow you to anyway. so it's better to be this way.
after today, there will be no more howling or mating calls that will keep the whole neighbourhood awake. sheesh! gendon, malulah. we are doing this with our conscience intact mind you! we had let gendon mate once and she already had four kittens and now it's time for her to just be a cat, our cat.
we had set an appointment with the spca and they told us that gendon had to fast before she could undergo the operation. so, we had to put her in the cage the whole night and she had this confused look because we had never caged her.
normally, we have kaka and gendon running loose in the apartment when we go to work and when we return home, they didnt turn the apartment upside down. good cats! hehehe...very well behaved.
d-day for gendon. we arrived at the spca, ampang at exactly 11.30am and when we went inside, the woman told us the neuter operation was done at a different clinic and not at the spca centre. erkkk! i called dr krishnan and told him to wait for us because we're not sure where the clinic was. it took us almost 2 hours to find the klinik kembiri dbkl. gendon bless her, was very well behaved and didnt make a noise at all.
i have cats all of my life, some went missing and some i had buried beneath the rambutan tree behind my house but i have never spayed any of them until now. my mom wont allow me to do that. she still thinks that it's cruel to spay animals. well, what she didnt know wont hurt her, eh!
man! how long does it take to spay a cat. i was already late for my guitar class and i was worried that something would happen to gendon. finally, they brought gendon out of the operation room and phew! she was still unconscious but her lower belly was shaved and plastered.
the doctor explained how to take care of our cat and what to do after she regains consciousness and how to take care of her. i think it's good to take care of our own cat instead of leaving them at the clinic for a few days. it makes you more responsible of your own pet. since zal was going back to her hometown, i was left in charge.
i left gendon in her cage at the apartment since she wont wake up until 6pm and went straight to my guitar class. JET's Look What You've Done was the assignment of the day. I think it's an easy song to play. The song had Beatles written all over it, so to speak. Nice!
it's 6.30pm, gendon had yet to wake up and i was worried like hell. gosh! i had spent the whole evening staring at her. gendon's eyes was wide open and glazed but she was unconscious and that was kind of spooky me thinks. God! i love this cat and I really hope she would be okay. Finally, she blinked and that was the most beautiful thing to see. thank God! she looked really groggy and didnt have the strength to move and her feet were cold.
i gave her a drink like what the doctor ordered. she only sipped a little and went back to sleep. i spent most of the night looking after her because she vomitted quite a few times and didnt want to eat at all.
sunday morning, she ate a little and had been able to move about in her cage. i felt a huge relief because gendon was on the road to recovery. it's true what the doctor said unlike humans, animals will recover very fast. on monday, gendon was let out of her cage and she was in excellent condition.
i was worried that the operation would change her somehow, that she would act differently and become more aggresive especially towards her kitten kaka. In the end, all the worrying had come to nothing when gendon played with kaka and bathed him lovingly. So, gendon was still herself minus the ovary. There will come a time when kaka will also be neutred but for the time being we will let him enjoy his “childhood”….

looking at the FIFA's nomination list for world player of the year really baffled me. so disturbed i was with what i figured a biased judgment by the people from fifa, it made me sick in the stomach.
how is it possible for seven real madrid players to be in the list in the first place?? it is, in my humble opinion, absolutely rubbish! raul's performances in the la liga last season and the recent euro 2004 were simply terrible. he was no longer the striker that every defender in the world feared.
no player, i repeat, no player can be bigger than the club but not mr. raul gonzalez. it was shocking to discover that he was responsible for the players' line up. that was a coach/manager's job not a player. sheesh! to think that i used to admire him as a player.
figo and zidane combined couldnt help save real madrid from a string of losses last season. so, why were they in the list?
beckham couldnt even shoot straight and owen who????
roberto carlos was never a good defender in my book and he is supposedly one of the best defenders in the world but he too couldnt help defend real madrid's goal.
as for the rest of the players, i think they deserved to be in the list except for maldini whose excellent defending was history (i am sorry paolo, im your fan too) and rooney. rooney is good but he is not phenomenal unlike Kaka. he might be in the list someday but not now, i dont think he deserved to be nominated now. he has a long way to go before he can reach that level. cafu was out of form too and the fact that he had won about every award there was in the football world didnt make him deserved to be in the list either.
oliver kahn's stupid mistakes proved too costly for germany and bayern munich. he used to be the best goalkeeper in the world but he should have just hang his boot. nothing last forever. as to quote the late mr cobain " it's better to burn out than to fade away."
i pity shevchenko though. he is one of the greatest strikers in the world and he has been scoring consistently much like thierry henry. his only misfortune was he wasnt born an italian or english or even french for that matter. without much success with his national team, ukraine, it's impossibled for him to win the award but i just hope that FIFA would just sit down and watch all his games with milan and then they will understand why his fans called him the ukrainean bullet.
apart from the award, i was simply disilussioned with liverpool and milan and that's why i didnt have the mood to write about their games. sheesh! i just couldnt take it anymore seeing liverpool playing like that. their recent game against chelsea was so awful, it was a reminiscence of the old gerard houllier day. so many players were out of form and the passings were horrendous. they couldnt communicate with each other on the field.
man! you have two or three dead ball specialists on the field. why must you depend on xabi alonso alone to take the free kicks when he did badly the first time. what was it, blind faith or something?
benitez was so bloody ignorant that he put out a bunch of players who rarely played together for such an important game. why didnt he use baros and cisse upfront and put garcia in the hole behind the two? why didnt he let finnan and warnock play and instead used traore and diao who rarely got a chance to play. kewell was out of form and often lose his ball to the opponent and you let him play against chelsea. what were you thinking? damn! it's so frustrating to talk about this.
milan has continued their winning way but their backline was a nightmare. they conceded a goal or two in each game and that wasnt good news for the milan fans. aging defenders like maldini and cafu really had me worried sometimes. their marking was terrible and dida aint no hero no more.

yea! inilah pick gitar yg aku dapat dari Nafi lepas dia org habis buat show dari studio satu kat astro hari ahad maghin. memang show macam ni yang aku tunggu-tunggu. muzik dia org raw, memang leka jugak aku melayan tengok nafi menggoreng gitar dia.
ini kira pick aku yg ketiga. satu aku beli sendiri, satu cikgu aku bagi dan yg ni dapat dari Nafi. yea! aku ni gila kumpul pick tapi main suka pakai jari. dalam wallet aku ada duit, ic, lesen, kad kredit dan pick. hehehe...
tapi aku rasa tony lagi best. dialah pemain gitar bass yg paling stylo pernah aku tengok. geramnya tengok jari-jari dia yg macam tak bertulang tu. lepas tu dgn gaya tersendiri dan tak tau nak duduk diam dia tu, wallau! best giler.
tengok senarai nama budak-budak yg datang tu, aku rasa kita orang tiga orang yg paling tua kut. alamak, malu jugak ler tapi aku tak kira, aku cintakan lagu-lagu dia orang. frust jugak bila lagu-lagu macam lagu kerongsang, sumpah aku tak akan buat lagi tak dimainkan.
pak tam punya suara memang kelas, masa dia nyanyi lagu rela kupujuk tu, aku geram aje macam nak ambik gitar tu main sekali. hahaha...perasan, macam terer aku ni pun. banyak jugak lagu yg spider mainkan. dia org ni memang talented musicianslah. kagumnya aku tengok.
penonton yg datang tak ramai sebenarnya. aku rasa dia org tak tau kot. aku tau pun sebab tam spider yg cakap masa jumpa dia kat angkasapuri dua minggu lepas.
apa yang kelakarnya, kita org berdiri kat tengah-tengah dan antara yg paling depan. sebelah kanan kita org sekumpulan budak lelaki dan kat sebelah kiri tiga org lelaki lembut/maknyah. aku rasa kesian pun ada, kelakar pun ye bila dia org tu bergaduh-gaduh mulut. kita org yang kat tengah-tengah tu sengih jerlah tengokkan perangai budak-budak tu. alahai budak-budak ni. macam-macamlah yg keluar daripada mulut dia orang tu tapi takdelah yg ekstrim.
aku taklah tau sangat pasal broadcasting ni tapi aku rasa bila buat rakaman, kalau pun produser tak puas hati, dia org mesti tunggu sampai habis performance baru dia org decide samada nak buat semula ke atau tidak. tapi kat astro ni, spider tgh perform lagu nazraku poyo-poyo tiba-tiba dia cut. mengamuklah tam sampai hilang mood. aku rasa bila dia nyanyi balik dah tak best sebab mood dia dah hilang. tam ni pun control-lah sikit. kesian kat peminat, jadi anti-klimaks pulak. mood kat dalam studio tu terus jadi somber, semua orang boleh sense yg tam tengah marah.
takpelah, sekurang-kurangnya enjoy jugaklah show tu. lepas tengok show spider tu kita org singgah kat awan besar sebab aku dgn diy nak belanja zal sate hj sahmuri sempena birthday dan konvo dia hari tu.
4/10 - semalam aku pergi interview. aku terpaksa ambik EL sebab dia org bagitau hari jumaat hari tu. entah dapat entah tidak kerja tu tapi yg pentingnya aku dah ambik langkah pertama. yelah sebelum ni asyik cakap jer tapi tak buat apa-apa. ini interview pertama selepas empat tahun. mari tengok samada skill menggoreng aku masih sharp lagi ke tak? kita tunggu....
