carling cup final (liverpool vs chelsea)

dear steven gerrard,

i guess you has finally gotten your wish to play with chelsea, eh! your name was now on the chelsea's scoreboard sheet. are u satisfied now? how ironic that you of all people was the one who would shoot an own goal and paved the way for chelsea to win the title.

who could forget your treacherous deal with chelsea before the season started. but i, like most of the Reds fans has forgiven you for that but last night i almost wished that you did go to chelsea instead of opting to stay with liverpool. without you, liverpool could have beaten chelsea last night.

damn! i am bitter and pissed off. as a captain, your lacklustred performance was so heartwrenching to watch. you didnt deserve to wear the captain armband last night. where was the gerrard that i know. i can no longer see your "never say die" attitude. you were an empty shell last night.

why the backheader gerrard? why? drogba wasnt even trying hard to reach that ball. there's no pressure at all. why did u do what you did? you disappoint not just the fans but your whole teammates too. did u ever realise how hardworking and how great your teammates were? did you? did u even think about how tired carragher, traore, hypia and finnan were defending the liverpool's goal from the barrage of chelsea attacks. the defenders were so brilliant they made chelsea forwards look really ordinary.

you know you were playing with the better team who outclassed and outplayed the opponent but you didnt seem happy and i didnt think you were into the game from the start. you know what, i wished you didnt play at all last night and you were just a liability to the team, imho, even if benitez failed to see that.

how could you fail your teammates? you are the captain for God's sake. i forgive you when i saw you wondering around on the field like a lost little lamb, i forgive you when your passing sucks and i forgive you when the opponent kept stealing the ball right from under your feet but i cant forgive you for what you did in front of your own goal. couldnt u at least empathise with your goalkeeper Dudek who was in pain but continued to hold his ground just so the chelsea players couldnt score but then came you.

it's the 80th minute gerrard, couldnt you just wait a little longer. in another 10 minutes, the mighty Reds would have been the team to stand on the podium instead of the Blues. my heart bleeds gerrard did u know that? no, i dont think you know or even care. my heart now only bleed for hypia, carragher, finnan, traore, baros, morientes, biscan, kewell, garcia, dudek, riise and benitez but not for you. you proved yourself a traitor. last night you were playing for chelsea didnt you. you were wearing the Reds jersey but you were actually playing for the blues, werent you.

i had so many questions to ask you gerrard. i dont think i could even begin to understand you. in my book, you are up there with the like of Owen and McManaman whose personal glory are more important than the loyalty to the club. i wish you will leave the Kop now. I no longer want to see you don the reds jersey. i think i will only forgive you if you leave anfield for good.

sincerely yours,

clash of the titans - man united vs milan ac (Champions League)

i have to confess that i have had a few reservations about milan's capability to stop man united winning run before this morning game. how disloyal can a fan be? i guess, it is just a way for me to brace myself against the disappointment but i should have known milan.

when i heard that stam injured himself during the warm up, i thought it was a jinx because milan had just lost their best striker shevchenko when he sufferred from fractured cheekbone during the match with cagliari last saturday. actually, i am not worried about not having sheva in the team because milan is not about sheva alone. but i had watched those few games that milan had over the last two weeks and the games were bloody boring.

this morning game was anything but boring. i am proud of milan even though the man united faithfuls insisted that their team was just unlucky. i am so proud to watch milan beating man united at their own game. so, the english had looked down their nose on milan's aging defenders eh! sir alex thought his young and fast players like ronaldo and rooney would easily beat nesta and maldini with their lightning speed running but he forgot about the last man standing, our beloved goalkeeper DIDA. he was really great last night except for that lunged on fortune, he didnt lose his composure even when his goal was attacked from every corner.

yes wahyu, nesta was yellow carded for that high tackle and it was to me a stupid thing to do but at the time was very effective. finally wayne rooney had met his match in the form of alessandro nesta, our il ministro della difesa or minister of defense. the way nesta guarded him, he might as well put a shackle on rooney's leg. that kid was obviously frustrated and his naivety was so painful to watch. actually, nesta did make a few mistakes that could have been costly to the team but apart from that he was doing his usual stylish defending.

for a few minutes after the kick off, milan looked a bit disoriented with man united fast tempo but still the team was undeterred by the non-stop attack. i guess ancelotti's tactical line up using four defenders with cafu as right back and kaladzhe on the left leaving nesta and maldini at the centre was a right choice. cafu totally reigned on the right flank but he was a bit late coming to the rescue at the back. at times you could see nesta trying to hold rooney and at the same time trying to stop nilsterooy. i didnt know how he did it.

when two giants met, the battleground was always in midfield. after awhile milan's midfield beat united hands down. i couldnt find fault in both teams actually. man united's midfield managed to shield their defense but so did milan. man united players have a fairly good ball control skill and were tactically disciplined and so did milan. the difference between both team was milan's ability to dictate the game discreetly that man united was left to to do the italian style counter attacking. isnt it amazing. milan's unhurried rhythm was a contrast to man united's thundering run. it's like they were making fun of man united which i was pretty sure didnt sit well with sir alex. in the end, milan settled down and played their usual patient and posession game.

ancelotti's line up look like a pyramid with the 4-3-2-1 formation. i didnt know what his game plan was but i thought with that kind of formation he must had wanted a draw with man united. i mean admit it, hernan crespo wasnt the same crespo who became the highest scorer in serie a while he was playing with parma 5 or 6 seasons ago. he no longer has the pace and the instinct of a striker. he squandered a few good chances which was unforgivable (cam nak tercabut anak tekak aku jerit, i was so angry at him) and arriving late for a few promising crosses. no wonder seedorf tried that long range shot, better than passing it to crespo. i have yet to forgive him even though he scored the winning goal for milan. IMHO, crespo's only goal was more about roy caroll's incompetence than crespo's skill. I AM NOT IMPRESSED...u got that crespo. i bet JD Tomasson could do 10 times better than u and he is not even my favourite striker.

frankly speaking, i pity both fortune and scholes for their misses. i am just glad that lady luck wasnt on their side this morning. even giggs couldnt' get pass nesta and maldini that often. err...nilsterooy who? hehehe...i thought it was a mistake for ferguson to substitute ronaldo for ruud. i mean why did u substitute a runner and creator for a poacher when you are playing against such tight defense? goodlah, easier for nesta and maldini. itulah, ferguson tu gila sangat kat v. nilsterooy tu.

i think pirlo was exciting last night. he is milan's very own compass even though his passing sometimes made me wanted to wring his neck. kaka had a quiet game but still effective. if only he didnt miss those two chances. oh man! i was surprised ancelotti played rui costa because he hadnt been in milan's starting XI for so long. he wasn't so sharp anymore but still surprisingly quite effective. gattuso was wonderful and unstoppable. there was only one word to describe kaka kaladzhe - SOLID.

i wonder why ancelotti didn't play vikash dhorasoo because that is one player that can turn the game around. i just love to watch him play. he is quite fast and he can defend too.

an away goal is like the most important thing in this two-legged quarter final. milan got theirs and let's just hope that milan's back four will not concede any goal when they host man united in the second leg at San Siro. as i said to diy this morning "the game is not over yet". FORZA MILAN! FORZA NESTA!

why?

Hunter S Thompson, who has committed suicide aged 67, was an unflinching and acerbic chronicler of US counterculture.
A leading political journalist, he was also considered one of the most important US authors of the 20th century.

Known for his cutting and explosive writing style, Thompson's renegade reporter attitude was a revelation in 1960s America.

His pioneering "gonzo" journalism - which throws objectivity out of the window and engages the writer's personal views - became his signature style.

But it was the publication of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in 1972 that confirmed Thompson's cult status.

Hunter S Thompson's book Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72 was an eye-opener to me. i dont really read books on politic . it was just that US president's nixon caught my interest because of the watergate scandal. so, HST' book on nixon's was really mindblowing. he's a good writer/journalist.

anyway, i dont know why he comitted suicide at the age of 67 last sunday. it's just so senseless. rest in peace HST. i know that your gonzo journalism legacy wont die with you.

jom pi kelantan

i have been waiting for almost a month to watch CSI season 5 at astro and the first episode will be aired tomorrow night, feb 16. and just my luck that i have to work outstation from tomorrow until this saturday. what the heck! i will miss the first episode. sheesh! maybe gendon can watch it for me since she loves to watch tv too. sigh!

as for my trip to kelantan, this is my first outstation job since i joined this agency almost three months ago. i am quite nervous actually. fortunately, my colleague will go with me so i can learn the ropes from her, so to speak. four days and three nights in kelantan and all expenses paid for, what more could u ask for eh! well, sure if you are into adventure and strenuous activities.

man, i am the most unfit person i know. i dont know how i am going to handle trekking in the jungle. sheesh! my roommate had invited me to climb mountains for years but i had always declined her invitation. i told her i love to watch nature but from the comfort of my living room. thank you very much. there are always, discovery travel and national geographic if i want to admire nature. well, she never asked me again after that. hehehe...and now, for that comment, i must pay. pembalasan tuhanlah tu jahat sangat. i will probably die not just from total exhaustion but from embarassment too. i will probably trip and fall down the hill or something. sheesh! and the rest of the teams will probably have to wait for me while i crawl my way to the top. sigh!

i am sure it will be fun though and challenging for me at least. in a way, i think it is the best way to get to know kelantan. it will be my second visit to the beautiful state. maybe i will write about my adventure in this blog that is if i am still alive. so, pok nik, tumpang lalu ye!

p/s: Fabio, buon compleanno il mio amico. i watched the inter vs roma game. i guess inter's win was a great gift for your birthday eh! i know why, because inter rarely win and everybody is calling your beloved team a draw specialist. hehehe...ciao my friend. forza milan! ;-)

much awaited wedding

phew! finally danchan is back again. for a while there, i thought my weblog has gone kaput. to my friend, fabio, dont worry, you can still follow my adventure here. hehehe...

i have 13-page article to translate before feb 16th but i dont have the mood to do it because of the long holidays. today, i only managed to translate three pages because my mind was no longer at the office. sheesh! i have to concentrate.

last saturday i took the day off because i wanted to go to a former colleague's wedding and i also skipped my class. kesian cikgu aku. it was a much-awaited wedding i guess because the couple is very popular at my old office. they make a handsome couple like pinang dibelah dua macam tu. both are nice people too. so, that's why i couldnt wait to go to their wedding. mesti cun gila.

the venue was Sek Men Agama Persekutuan Wilayah in Kajang. fortunately, diy is familiar with the kajang area. i went wild when i saw the school because SMAP Wilayah was one of the schools that i really wanted to go to when i was in form three. it was one of the best sekolah agama during those days and i badly wanted to go there. however, no smap wilayah for me instead i was stucked at my old school sek men keb agama sheikh hj mohd said in seremban. but that's ok cause my best friends at the school are all cool people and that's why we are still hanging out together until now even though some of them are already married and have children. i told you high school friends are the best of friends.

the school looks great. it reminded me of my brother's school at stj gentam. typical boarding school i guess. i was in seventh heaven. finally, i got to go to SMAP Wilayah even if it's only for a visit. emo lak sekejap.

as for the wedding, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was very relax. i saw almost half of the staff from my former office. i greeted almost all of them. some of them knew about my new job and some didnt. well, at least they still remember me. hehehe...oh man! the couple were gorgeous, i must tell you. the peach songket they wore were beautiful and it was obvious that they loved each other so much. ceh! pandai2 aku jer.

all in all, last saturday was really fun, delicious food and great occassion. oh and yeah! liverpool won.

selamat hari wilayah

cool giler dapat bangun lambat hari selasa. lepak kat rumah tengok macam2 dvd, lepas tu dalam pukul 12 tiba-tiba rasa nak balik kampung. aku pun apa lagi capai kunci kereta, tinggalkan makanan untuk kucing, terus balik seremban. cuaca panas gila, ada dlm 125kmph aku pecut. 1/2 jam dah sampai.

aku sebenarnya rindu pulak kat mak aku. borak2 dengan dia sambil makan nasi berlaukkan asam pedas. dah lama rasanya aku tak makan masakan mak aku sebab dia pun dah lama tak masak. selalunya kakak aku je yang masak tak pun abang-abang aku. mak aku kata cuti raya cina nanti abang aku nak bawa dia melawat nenek aku kat singapura tu. dah lama rasanya aku tak balik kampung. kali terakhir aku melawat nenek aku, dua tahun lepas rasanya. aku pergi dengan mak dan dua orang anak buah aku. kita orang pergi naik keretapi. sampai hati abang aku tak ajak aku.

mak aku kata nenek atau embah dah uzur. kalau ikutkan hati mak aku, dia nak bawak embah tinggal dengan dia tapi makcik aku kat sana kata dia boleh jaga embah aku. sepupu-sepupu aku pun ramai boleh tengok-tengokkan. pakcik aku belah bapak pun ada kat sana. dia pun dah uzur jugak. aku sayang sangat kat pakcik aku ni. kalau tak kerana dia yang cerita sejarah keturunan keluarga jangan harap aku nak tau. sebabnya arwah bapak aku dulu tak pernah nak cerita apa-apa pun. kalau nak ikut sejarah hidup bapak aku, cerita puteri gunung ledang pun kalah. hahaha...

dalam pukul 5 petang aku pun cabut balik kl. hujan lebat gila dekat highway sampai tak nampak jalan. singgah bangi jemput diy, konon nak singgah pasar malam bangi tapi pergi bilion makan soto. sedap jugak soto makcik tu cuma tak pedas sangat. dua mangkuk cili aku letak pun tak pedas. kalau soto kak sal kat pasar malam pantai dalam tu, empat sudu cili dah berasap telinga aku. lepas makan, pusing-pusing kat dalam pasaraya tu, siut punya diy, tak pasal2 aku kopak beli skirt 2 helai. hampeh! lari budget dah ni.

lepas tu sampai rumah pukul 8 malam. masing2 tidur cepat sebab nak tengok bola. tapi aku tak boleh tidur, pukul 1.30 baru lelap. aku cuba praktis lagu belaian jiwa yang cikgu aku ajar minggu lepas. pening kepala jugak sebab chord dia banyak sangat. ingatkan lagu belaian jiwa ni cikai-cikai aje tapi boleh kata complicated jugak chord dia.

pukul 3.45 bangun tengok bola lepas tu terus bersiap nak pergi kerja.

selamat hari wilayah!

ac milan vs man united (pre-match)

watching man united trashed arsenal early this morning made me more worried about the coming match on feb 23. since sheva was injured and had to be rested for 15 days and inzaghi broke his hand, what choice do we have for the forwards? either the underperformed crespo or the inconsistent Jon Dahl. i had just realised that apart from sheva, milan doesnt own any formidable striker. gila apa!

inzaghi for all his weaknesses, he is at least one of the best poachers in the world. we have to admit that he's very effective sometimes compared to crespo who after his hat-trick could not score a single goal. what the hell! i hope ancelotti will act fast and go buy gilardino. he has an irritating habit of diving but he is effective and powerful in the air. if only we have adriano in our club.

man united, although one of the most hated team in the world (in my booklah kan) played some of the most beautiful football, i have to admit; especially now that the team is completely balanced in all areas. i cant believe i am complimenting the team. sheesh!

milan back four have lots of man marking to do - giggs, rooney, nilsteroy, ronaldo are some of the dangerous man united players. the defence must go all out.

i am not sure about our attacking prowess though i hope that the combination of kaka, pirlo, cafu and seedorf will produce goals since crespo and jdt cannot be depended on.

if milan could repeat the performance when they beat barcelona in the champions league during the early rounds, they'll be able to win the match. as man united is an attacking team, milan must close down mu midfield so that they will be able to control the game. or maybe milan can use the catenaccio + counter attacking while meeting such attacking oriented team like man u. but the problem was milan pun lebih kurang camtu gak. :-(

however judging from milan's performance in the last two games, i dont know whether they can beat man united. it's not that they played poorly but they just couldnt produce the finishing and at the same time leaving their defence vulnerable to the attack...alah penatlah nak pikir.

whatever it is, i love milan. forza milan! forza nesta!
