the champions league final between barca and arsenal last wednesday marked the end of the 2005/06 football season. barca is the champions of europe for 2005/06 and that result must have broken the heart of a certain arsenal fan i knew. however, another chapter on football history is in the making as the Cup of Life is just around the corner.
IMHO, the 2005/06 was a fantastic season. it was full of dramas with fans sharing their players' tears of joy, tears of pain and a few tears of ligaments (sorry, bad joke. heehe..) as EXPECTED, chelsea won the epl for the second time in a row. with that kind of money + players, shouldnt they? hahaha. and it's amazing to see teams like man united and arsenal climbed up to the top 4 position later in the season after a few wobbly performances in the early season. much as i hate to admit it, only top class teams can do that.
anyway, liverpool season started earlier than any other teams but they were in a class of their own. first, we need not return our champions league cup cause we won it for the fifth time. second, our 10 unbeaten run in the premiership was a record, at least for the club. the sweetest thing was chelsea may have beaten us with large number of goals twice in the premiership but we managed to beat them twice in games that really matters. one, in the champions league group and another in the FA Cup semi final. and to top it all, we gave man united a scare for that second place. the Mighty Reds can be proud of themselves for the improvement they brought to the team when they finished 3rd place with 82 points in total, only 9 behind the champion. it really is a vast improvement. and to top it all, we won the FA Cup for the seventh times. oh man! it was dengan hati berbunga-bunga i watched gerrard lifted the oldest cup in England.
early in the season, i wondered " ada apa dengan momo sissoko" and towards the middle of the season, he gave me the answer. what an amazing player he is. i am rapidly becoming fond of him, he did not just assists but he scored too. that eye injury he suferred during the CL quarter final was horrible but fortunately, he recovered well from the injury. luis "thumbsucker" garcia was a revelation, that boy can do wonder to the liverpool's game if he didnt do something stupid like in the west ham game. carragher, my darling central defender is only second to Nesta of course. i didnt blame him for the own goal at all because he has been the best central defenders, the Reds ever have, enough said. anyway, it's true that all football fans sufferred from short memory term. once upon a time, i had said that i wont forgive gerrard forever for intending to leave liverpool. but now he is a hero again, the Mighty Reds true Il Capitano, the talisman, the pillar of the liverpool strength and all the nicest praises will go to him this time around. that two goals in the fa cup final were the finest of them all. that is what i called the DEFENSE-SPLITTING shots. the goals brought tears to my eyes. my only wish was they wont compare the game with the CL final in Istanbul, please, Im a milan fan too ok. welcome back Robbie Fowler, we the koppites love you man! FORZA LIVERPOOL!
it's hard for me to like van nilsterooy. you coud say i hate him at first sight. he just rubbed me the wrong way and i dont even care if the pundits said he is one of the best poachers in the modern game. however, his problem is worth mentioning because i believed that it was very unprofessional of Sir alex Ferguson to treat his player like that. So, ruud is jahat macam setan but fergie as his manager could always punish him in other ways and not snubbed him like that in front of the whole world. i have long heard of nilsterooy black character where he managed to create friction among his teammates both in his national team and club. but to be humiliated like that in the final game and the final day of the man united football season, well it proved that no player is better than the team or err manager. hahaha...ronaldo pun satu, kena ejek sikit pun nak nangis, still i think what goes around, comes around eh! or kalau orang islam cakap, tuhan bayar cash sekarang ni.
so, chelsea finally managed to snatch ballack from bayern munchen. yeah bayern lost their captain but they made huge profits from the sell. hey, dont worry, there's always another playmaker. ballack maybe a genius but i dont like his attitude. he is the kind of player that will do anything to win, he'll dive, his theatrical act will make you vomit. gosh! if anyone remember the bayern - milan game where he covered his face in agony in the milan's penalty area as if he was strucked in the face by one of the milan players. the fact that he was pretending turn me off him forever. fortunately the referee saw through his lies and he got a yellow card for that. and i wonder if his ego is bigger than the manager of the year - mr jose mourinho, how is he going to cope at chelsea.
even though the champion of epl was pretty predictable this season, the games had been very entertaining, thanks to few clubs such as liverpool, arsenal, spurs, "setan merah", west ham, newcastle and a few other who really fought toe and nail to fight for their place in the league.
however, the games had been smeared with a few horrible incidents. i guess sportsmanship has no longer existed in the vocabulary of football players. it was sad having to watch players dive and cheated to get the ball going their way. the refereeing quality has also gone down which was sad really. a couple of managers even refused to shake hands after the game. even if the stakes were too high, u cant simply throw away such deep symbol of integrity and tradition like a simple handshake.
chelsea had already welcome new members to the club, inarguably two very talented players - ballack and shevchenko. and a few other clubs had bid farewell to a few of their players. come sept, we will see who will play with whom. i guess till we meet again...
aku mendoakan kesejahteraan dunia dan akhirat untuk ibuku, ibuku, ibuku dan bapaku. sesungguhnya aku mahu mencium bau syurga di tapak kakimu.
selamat hari ibu
Exclusive: The Moggi Tapes Transcribed
I think it's about time that the powers that be in the Serie A and the Italian Football Federation take action against Luciano Moggi - the GM of Juventus. We, the fans of Serie A will be forever grateful if he is punished for corrupting the Serie A.
Come on Juve fans, before all of u called us the milan fans a hypocrite, let me tell you this, Berlusconi maybe the most corrupted man in Italy but he didnt play dirty to get Milan to win the scudettos. he didnt bought a maserati to fix a referee unlike moggi. you all got that?
the only sin milan had committed was a long long time ago when they were relegated to the Serie B for match-fixing. and milan did pay a price for their mistakes. you all are always so proud that your team has never been relegated to Serie B. You've always taunted us about our days in the serie B but i think your days are numbered, that is if there's any justice left in the italian football scene.
juventus should have been stripped of their scudetto titles and relegated to the serie B. i mean, all these years, not just us the milan fans but the rests of the serie a teams have sufferred from the unfair decisions made by referees in almost all juventus games. well except for Collina, whom juventus fans hated so much for his integrity and honesty.
the serie a doesnt need people like the corrupted moggi whose antics had made serie a the butt of a joke for so many football fans. how could the italian football federation close one eye on such a serious problem like this. ignorance is bliss, is that it? how could you let luciano moggi and agnelli tainted the serie a with their corrupted dealing all these years?
Merda Juve! Show No Mercy! Forza Milan
