same old tune

i cant imagine how the senior players in the liverpool team will cope with the reality that they will never experience the triumph of winning the premier league. take gerrard for an example, he has poured all the sweat, tears and blood since he was 18 years old for this club but he has never once lifted the premier league trophy.

i have been supporting liverpool long before gerrard came into the picture and it was so disheartening to know that the club is in a bad shape right now. between the bloody american owners and the eccentric manager, the football team has played second fiddle throughout this season. the media and the people were more interested in the business deal between the american owners and Dubai based DIC and also about the future of benitez. i dont understand much about equity, club shares, dividend and stuff but i am pretty sure that i do understand that hicks and gillet are just making liverpool's future worst with accumulating debts. for the love of the club, the previous owner did not collect the club's dividend for himself and all the profit generated by the club was pumped back into paying salaries and buying players but the americans want the dividend out of the club for themselves. typical of america, they came, they saw, they destroyed.

and i am sure the players like the fans are disturbed by the news and worried about the future of the club. benitez can go to hell for all i care. seriously, he is slowly destroying the foundation of the team. he has to realise that the rotation rule was not working, at least with the liverpool team. he has to accept that his second 11 are not good enough. it'll be just a waste of time to write about it all over again so i am not even going to mention it here. early in the season, he already has a perfect team and then he went crazy and create the "rotation rule", bloody stupid idea. his most unforgiving sins were leaving out torres on the bench in the few early games. i really didnt understand that one, not in a million years. i wish gerrard was more like john terry who has the guts to yell to his own coach out of frustration and to voice out his dissatisfaction. i would love to knock some sense in rafa's head.

you know, i'd felt no pleasure watching the liverpool - borough match last week despites torres's hat-tricks. they played so badly and uninspiring. i wonder if i ever get to witness liverpool lift the premier league trophy in this lifetime. at this rate, i dont think so. as for the CL, i wonder if matterazzi wasnt red carded and cordoba wasnt injured, could liverpool win the match. whatever it was, it was great seeing christian chivu in top form. he is one of the many great central defenders that i admire.

it's almost eerie to see both liverpool and ac milan sharing the same predicament. they are both in the fifth place and both are struggling in their respective domestic league. what can i say, both team are playing the same old tune...
