Penagih Tegar

aku rasa punca berat aku bertambah masa kat bandung mungkin disebabkan ketagihan melampau pada starbucks bottled frappuccino yang aku belasah minum siang malam masa seminggu kat sana. apa taknya, circle K yang jual drinks ni selang dua bangunan je dengan hotel aku. sebelum balik hotel mesti singgah punyalah walaupun tangan dah takde tempat kosong sebab penuh dengan beg plastik dan kaki dah tak terdaya nak jalan tapi mesti singgah jugak. kalau tak sebab tiga-tiga beg aku dah sarat, mau aje aku borong beli drinks ni untuk buat stok kat rumah.

bila balik sini, ada jugak aku cuba cari kat shopping complex tapi setakat ni tak jumpa pun. nikmatnya minuman ni. walaupun sekarang ni aku tengah detox fast food, almost dah a month tak sentuh any of the fast food tapi hot caramel macchiato starbuck tu memang aku tak boleh nak tolak. apa lagi macam ada conspiracy theory suruh aku minum banyak lagi bila dapat berhelai-helai voucher RM10 starbucks. sigh!!!yahudi sungguh.

BANGKIT DARI ABU

Yes, with a little bit of luck, high determinations, a few changes in the team and last but not least, a coach who was willing to learn from his mistakes, italy managed to get through to the quarter final by beating the 10-men france. IMHO, a post-zidane france was never the same.

Anyway, it is the clash against spain that I am mostly worried about. Our most influential holding and attacking midfielders will miss the quarter final match. I wonder what donadoni is going to do to overcome that. As for the Spanish, they are young and they have pace. Did you see toni in the game against france? He was so slow, I felt like screaming.

I am thinking maybe the azzurri should go back to their original text book counter attacking game – the catenaccio. Chiellini seemed impressive during this morning match. Please leave barzagli on the bench as he was really clueless. To be honest, we can’t beat spain in terms of finese but if we try to defend deep in order to deny the space for the terrific duo – villa and torres to run into, maybe we will be able to stop them. Buat dia orang frustrated and then we do a fast counter-attack with high and long balls to outmaneuvered the Spain’s lightweight defense. Aku tengok defense spain macam tak berapa nak kuat aje especially kalau puyol takde.

i think maybe ambrosini should be in the first 11 for the game against spain instead of aquilani. Is there something wrong with boriello and why wasn’t he featured in any of the game? Toni has become more and more like vieri. I am running out of patience with him. Please keep grosso, perotta and de rossi in the game.

I believed the azzurri has found the rhythm in the match against france but my worry is they will lose it again without gattuso and pirlo just like when they lost canna to injury. My only hope is the defense will be able to keep a tight lid on their fort. Why didn’t the younger players learn from their seniors? The defenders must learn how to anticipate their opponents’ movement. Positioning and anticipation are two of the most important ingredients to be great defenders like nesta and cannavaro who we all know didn’t posses lightning-quick pace but their positioning and anticipation of the games were superb. So, please stick to what the azzurri knows best - defend to the death and then counter attack.

Good luck to the boys! Forza Azzurri!

boemi joglo

Kalau pergi bandung, jangan lupa singgah makan di boemi joglo. Restoran ni kalau kat kl dah kategori high-end dah.

Aduh! Teringat-ingat sampai sekarang. Supik cakap kalau boleh nak pergi lagi paling awal januari 2009. Aku ok ajer. Hahaha…

Hahaha…

never say die!

Dear Azzurri,

I hope all of you will regain your confidence and face the rest of the games with a strong mentality and maybe then, you will realise that getting out of the group of death is not impossible but merely very difficult.

forza azzurri!

Euro 2008 - Austria-Switzerland

i have tried to refrain myself from writing about football in this blog of mine but i just can't help myself. sigh!

What is azzurri without the drama right? The Azzurri has never entered a tournament without a little drama either on the pitch or on the sideline. This euro2008 is no different. Cannavaro’s ankle injury was a really big blow to the azzurri and just under a week before the tournament started of all time. Gosh! I am already missing Nesta thinking he is the only defender who has that same quality of leadership compared to the younger defenders like Barzagli, Chiellini and Gamberini. Apparently, it was Chiellini’s challenge that inadvertenly contributed to cannavaro’s premature leave from the national team. hampeh punya budak.

As for Nesta, honestly speaking, after Euro 2000, nesta had always suffered from bad luck whenever he played with the national team either during euro or world cup. Somehow, he always got injured during the big tournament and I think that was one of the reasons he chose to retire from the national team. But now that he isn’t in the team, the "curse" has moved on to cannavaro of all people.

Without nesta, the only person who hold the defensive line together as we all have witnessed during the last WC was our il capitano – cannavaro and now that he was injured, what will happen to the azzurri. Apart from Pirlo, canna is one player that the azzurri can’t afford to lose. If you remember, Baresi, maldini and cannavaro all possessed the organizational skill and consistency of a defensive anchor, a cool head and calmness under pressure which made them a good captain for the defensive line and also captain for the whole team.

Don’t expect panucci and the matrix to take over the defensive anchor because they just don’t have the qualities to be a leader. I am hoping that maybe something good will come out of this. Maybe those young defenders will be a revelation who knows! Perhaps it is time for the italians to have a new generation of defenders with great skills. Gosh! as I write this, I am already missing Nesta’s sliding tackles. Would I have the chance to see any of the young defenders doing that during the tournament? Zambrotta does has that single-mindedness ability to execute a sliding tackle but he isn’t nesta. Sigh!! I don’t know but I am hoping for that almost extinct skill to be pass on from the legendary baresi to costacurta to nesta and perhaps barzagli.

As a coach, donadoni was a different breed altogether. I think by losing his defensive maestro, donadoni has no choice but to play attacking football which is very un-italian, mind you. However he does has the advantage whereby the azzurri are for once rich with attacking resources with the like of luca toni, di natale, del piero (urgh), boriello and cassano.

I am hoping for this new generation of the azzurri to create history and join france as the team to win both the world cup and euro back to back. Whatever happened, i do know that it will be a month yang penuh bara, at least for hardcore azzurri tifosi!

Forza azzurri!
