Send Someone A Smile
hari ni saya ada intebiu dlm bahasa Inggeris, jadi saya sesaja taip cerita ni yg saya dapat dari Reader's Digest April 1983. beginilah ceritanya, tapi tak abis lagi, kalau ada senang saya taip lagi yerrr: It’s simple. And, this young mother discovered, it can lift your own spirits. One day shortly after my third child was born, I received a note from another young mother, a friend of mine who lived just three blocks from me. We hadn’t seen each other all winter. “Hi friend,” she wrote. “I think of you often. Someday we’ll have time to spend together like in the old days. Keep plugging. I know you’re a super mother. See you soon, I hope.” It was signed: “Your friend on hold, Sue Ann.” The few words lifted my spirits and added a soothing ointment of love to a hectic day. I remember thinking, thanks, Sue Ann. I needed that. The next day was my errand day, because my husband was home to tend the children. I decided to visit a card shop a few miles away that was having a sale. I wasn’t in a good mood. The baby had a cold, and I was in hurry. Instead of reacting to my brusqueness, the saleswoman was extremely courteous and helpful. Noticing that her name tag read Janet Sullivan, I asked the woman if she was the store owner. “Oh, no, “she said. “I’m just one of the employees, but I love it here.” I left the shop feeling more able t cope. On the way home, I thought, I really ought to write a note to the owner of that shop and tell her what a good employee Janet Sullivan is. But, of course, there isn’t time. When I arrived home, however, things seemed peaceful. On my desk I saw my friend Sue Ann’s note. If she had the time to lift my spirits, why, I had time to help cheers others. “Dear store owner, “I wrote. “ It was a hectic day and I came into your shop with a chip on my shoulder. But Janet Sullivan was pleasant, extremely helpful, and she did not let my uptight mood affect her kindness to me. Thank You for hiring such a lovely lady and for making my day better.” I signed the note “A Satisfied Customer.” tu bi kontiniu...... Dictionary: brusque also brusk P Pronunciation Key (br sk) adj.
