Tablet PC

In my search for gadgets, I have come across what will definitely be my next toy -- the Tablet PC. Most major manufacturers are coming out with one Tablet PC or another. There are only two Tablet PCs available right now here in Hong Kong -- the Fujitsu and the Acer. The Fujitsu is very expensive and the Acer is just not attractive. The two models that seem to be getting the most attention is the Toshiba Protege 3500 and the Compaq TC1000. The Toshiba looks like the better model, if you want a FULL laptop model. But it's priced as a full laptop. I already have 2! The Compaq though is priced much more attractively (around US$1800) which is to me about right.

I've been reading lots of reviews about whether a Tablet PC is good or not. My opinion is that as long as its not your only laptop, it is certainly and interesting option. I think it would work well in the office environment and for travelling. But as a desktop replacement or standalone, you'll need something with more of everything. Because the technology is still so new, I think buying a cheaper 1st generation product like the Compaq rather than the Toshiba or the Fujitsu is just a smarter move.

Hello all...

It's been a long time writing. I apologise. There has been a lot going on in both my life and Dan who helps me run this site. But, I'm back. I've got a lot of travelling to do for work in the near term but hopefully I will still be able to put up lots of postings and stuff. Thanks to those that kept writing to me and checking in on the site.
