DVD recorders...
I'm still sorting through my archives of videos and DVD clips made, especially with my "big" day just past. I should probably get a DVD recorder to consolidate everything, but I still can't decide which brand, format, features, etc. to pick. This has been a dilemma of mine for many, many months.
JVC has a nice DVD recorder out there. The DR-MV1/DR-MF1 comes with both a recordable DVD drive and a VHS recorder in the same deck. I think Samsung has a similar setup.
This isn't helping me make a decision.

New Casio Exilim Digital Cameras
Although it isn't exactly small, Casio is introducing a massive upgrade to its Exilim line with the Exilim Pro. It's 6 Megapixels of performance with a 2.0" LCD screen. However, all this power forces this digital camera to give up much of the Exilim's charm -- it's small size. But it's certainly smaller than my Nikon D100!
Casio Japan also introduced the Z40 and Z30 upgrades which importantly come with EXTENDED battery life of more than 2.5x the old battery life (of past Exilims). That's pretty useful.

Blackberry 7730
Well those of you in the US have long had Blackberry. But it looks like on an individual basis, we'll be finally getting Blackberry in Hong Kong. Technically, we've had it for some time but its been geared to the corporations. This time around, we're getting it for individuals. One thing new is the Blackberry 7730 which according to the site won't be available for the US markets. Instead, it will be available here! Looks like it has a larger color screen than the 7230 model. Other than that, it's hard to see what the difference really is. Still, I can't wait to try it out.

Sony upgrades its digital camera line
Sony has introduced an upgrade to its P line up including the P41, P73, P93, and P100. The P100 is particularly nice as it is a more advanced version of the P10 (yeah, they just added a zero -- go figure). With 5.1 Megapixels like my Sony T1, this should be a very good camera. It also comes with that Carl Zeiss 3x Optical zoom leens so it should take pretty good photos as well. Lastly, it comes in three neat colors - red, blue, and silver!

FlipStart laptop -- a hybrid laptop/PDA
Tired of waiting to start up a laptop but not enough power in a PDA? Well a concept laptop called the FlipStart is supposed to resolve that. It will turn on as quickly as a PDA but have all the power of a laptop. Cool concept. But let's see if it becomes a reality...

NEC C313 3G Handset
Well, I've been having a lot of fun with my c616 handset. 3G is pretty darn cool. But the cost (at about US$500) is a deterrent to many. Well, Hutchison (the 3G provider here) has just introduced the c313 which is a brick design 3G handset that importantly costs just US$125. I know many people who will appreciate this. It does most of the usual 3G functions including the all important video calling. 3G will certainly now appeal more to the masses and we expect more handsets to follow.
