Casio Exilim S500

Following in the footsteps of the small Sony T7, Casio has introduced the S500, a card-sized 5 megapixel digital camera. I had the chance to play with one earlier today and although I thought it was not nearly as small as the T7, it did pack a lot of options. The "Anti-shake" technology and quality of the pictures were quite good, but the screen was not as good as the one on the T7. Still Casio is quite well known for the quality of the images and I wouldn't be surprised if the S500 took better pictures. Definitely one to consider in this category.

FujiFilm MP 70 Digital Printer

Fuji has introduced a wireless digital photo printer designed for devices like the mobile phone. With everyone now more active with mobile phone pictures, it's always been a challenge to print them out. The MP70 solves that by using infrared transmission to transfer photos into this compact, portable printer. Nice.

Archos 100GB Multimedia Player

I saw the 100GB AV700 Digital Video Recorder from Archos today. While the actual device is not that impressive, I am impressed by what it offers. 100GB is a lot of video and with the function to record from TV, plus with lots of shows available online (if you know where to look), it's actually very impressive. The 7" screen was actually quite decent as well. Plenty of other uses as well (MP3, photo viewer, games, PC connectivity, etc.) However, I wonder what the battery life will be like. Rated at 4 hours of video, that's just not enough (likely it's closer to 3 hours). My laptop can probably do better. The PSP is quite similar as well (though you can buy another PSP battery at a decent price but can't probably hook up a 100GB hard drive - yet). Plenty of competition out there for this but I like the idea.

Cool Metallic speakers from Japan - BuzzStyle

These funkylooking speakers from Japan look like small, simple speakers that were probably designed for the iPod given the LED lights which comes in iPod-like colors. BuzzStyle is showing off these small metallic speakers that look more like flashlights but are amazingly very cool speakers. I want one!

Waterproof iPod

H2O Audio has this very cool case which makes the iPod nearly waterproof. The SV iMini even has waterproof Headset and Silicon Earplugs. Submersible up to 10ft (3m)... pretty cool. Can you hear this thing underwater? Hmm...

Belkin GamePad & SpeedPad

I was searching through the Belkin website, looking for the new router they have after reading about the improvements in speed and range when I stumbled across these two products. The GamePad is a funny looking game controller which is sort of a heavy duty PlayStation controller. Even more cooler was the SpeedPad which is a cross between a keyboard and touchpad. Funny looking, but I can see where hard core gamers will want this. I haven't even switched on my XBox now in at least a year but if I were a hardcore gamer on the PC, I'd definitely get one of these crazy things.

JVC Everio GZ-MC500 3CCD 5MP Video/Still Camera

JVC has a new Everio model, the MC500, out which is an update to their very cool Everio line of digital video/still cameras. The Everio are fantastic cameras that can take DVD-like video on its built-in 4GB card. They can also take very good still photos and this new model has a 5 mega-pixel digital still photoa capability. But what helps make this one oustanding is the the 3CCD setup which should really make most photos stand out. Very nice. I like that it's a high-end video and still camera. I can't wait to see how big it is.

Sony new line-up of DVD Recorders

As I was writing about the JVC 3-in-1 recorder, Sony had planned it's own launch for a number of DVD recorders. Plenty of new models are on their way, some with the same 3-in-1 format as the JVC (VHS/HDD/DVD recorder) functions. I can't wait to see one and decide which one to get...

JVC 3-in-1 VHS/DVD/HDD Recorder

With my DVD recorder dead, I've been looking at getting a replacement. Of course, it makes a lot of sense to get one with a hard drive to record shows you're going to miss and then erase them quickly. But one of the things that I wanted to do with the DVD recorder was to get rid of all my VHS tapes as well by converting them over to DVD. Enter the JVC MX3/MX5 line of multi-format recorders. There are lots of DVD/HDD recorders, and even a few DVD/VHS recorders, but this one has all three. Pretty cool... too bad it's for Japan only right now. Hopefully they get a version out to the rest of soon -- before I buy my replacement.
